This is a really fun and different class. Bestiaries were medieval books “explaining” animal characteristics and behaviors - many for creatures that don’t actually exist! Spend a Saturday re-creating an image from a medieval bestiary using paints, pigments and gold. We’ll use the same techniques and similar materials that were used in the original paintings. No ‘talent’ required!

We are happy to offer a calligraphy class for young people ages 12-15. Students will experiment with broad edged calligraphy markers and learn to make beautiful letters. They will have fun learning about handwriting and the alphabet! (Please note: Kids 16 and older are welcome in the regular workshops.)

In this half-day workshop, students will create and embellish a simple, tiny book that can be worn as a pin. If you like, you can add content to the pages in the book to keep it close to your heart.
