Development Tools

• Foamcore model for first prototype• Benefits: Easy for users to

understand and interact with

• Cons: Locks down form factor early on in the design process

• Interactive PowerPoint with SolidWorks model• Benefits: Easy to develop and

alter

• Cons: Inherent difficulties with PowerPoint and lack of “power”

Development Tools

• Interactive PowerPoint with edited consumer model• Benefits: Easy to develop and alter, and consumer model gives sense of

scale

• Cons: Inherent difficulties with PowerPoint and lack of “power”

Unimplemented Changes

• SolidWorks model changes (physical interface)• Change lettering on the buttons• Add “Zoom” lettering above zoom toggle and change label

of toggle• Add black lettering to help make labels more clear• Aesthetic and overall form factor changes

• Interactive model changes (testing interface)• Add labels indicating current mode of usage• Clean up certain slides’ look and feel• Fix glitches in interactive slideshow due to PowerPoint

errors

Low Fidelity Prototype

•What we did•Made foamcore mock-up of camera with basic features• Tested general interface and mode card function

•What we later changed• Removed mode cards• Changed review function• Passed on sending decisions to separate printer interface

Heuristic Evaluation•What we did•Created electronic camera interface simulation•Designed and created separate printer interface

•What we later changed• Fixed inconsistencies in style and wording• Flagged certain features as needing more senior testing

Final Usability Testing•What we did•Tested revised camera design with seniors•Got feedback on printer concept and design

•What we later changed•Affirmed our design choice for reviewing pictures•Gained confidence in our two-part interface system
