containers.
•All cans used must be clean, free of soda remains or dirt.
•Sculptures will be judged based on creativity, aesthetics
(does it look nice?) and originality.
•Sculptures may be abstract or realistic, but non-offensive.
•All parts of the sculpture must be securely attached.
Silicone Glue, tape, string, wire, and thread are permitted.
•DO NOT PAINT the sculpture. Painted recyclables cannot
be properly recycled after the competition.
•Cans can be cut or crush in order to make your sculpture.

•Empty items, rinse and dry.
•Crush them and save them
in a plastic bag.
•Write your name on a sheet of paper and
paste on it.
Although most aluminum cans are clearly marked, they can be
verified with a magnet. Magnets don’t stick to aluminum, according
to Louisiana's Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ).

Store items in a dry location where they will
not be subject to food contamination,
which can make items ineligible for
recycling and may also attract insects and
other pests.
Flatten cans to save storage space.
Collect all the cans you can and bring them
to participate in the Recycling Campaign.
