Editor’s letter

Hi All!

I’m proud to bring you the first magazine of

MSRT 159 , It gives me immense pleasure to be

the editor of this wonderful magazine; CAMPFIRE.

Why Campfire? Because a Campfire is where you sit and chat with

your mates, where you get together and swap stories, where

relationships and memories are made, where the best moments of

your life are shared.

It has been a roaring start this year, we had our first project on

the first day of the tabling year. We have done a lot of community

service and the fellowships have been phenomenal. We’ve literally

been on Fire!

With our IPC Tr Narendran levitating the table to new heights last

year, we look forward this year to rise and roar with our chairman Tr

Deepak Dugar

Regards,

Yusuf Miyajiwala,

Editor Convenor

Chairman’s Letter:

Hi All,

It was a proud moment for me, when I took over

the chairmanship of this prestigious table on

18th July. Firstly, I would like to congratulate our

very own tabler IPAC Tr. Shriram Duvvuri for a great levitating year

as an Area Chairman.

I would also like to congratulate IPC Tr. Narendar Shah for doing a

great job last year and also winning close to 12 Awards for the table,

and Tr. Mitesh Bhandari for being awarded COM for being best floor

tabler in Area 2.

“WELL BEGUN IS HALF THE WORK DONE”

And as the above saying goes thanks to all the Convenors we have

started the first quarter on a high, covering all facets of tabling and I

am sure we will “RISE AND ROAR”, this year with all your support ,

and continue to enjoy tabling.

Yours in Tabling,

Deepak Dugar,

Chairman, MSRT 159

Spice Soccer League 2015

By Rahul Singhi

‘Let’s Bounce the Party!’

This was the motto of the 200+ tablers, circlers and

twinklers of Area 2 who came to the Spice Soccer League 2015 organised by MSRT159 & MSLC133. The event was

held on 27th September at Netz Cricket, Citi Centre. The presence of 14 tables and 9 circles from Area 2 is in itself

a testimony to the success of this amazing event.

Soccer in a Zorb!

A total number of 14 teams participated in the game and

were split into leagues of 3 teams with each team having 6 players (including 2 substitutes). Each player strapped

themselves into their own one man body ‘Zorb’ and split off into teams. Rather than tackle, they used the more

effective ‘barge’ to win the ball while sending their opponent bouncing in the process. If the players had a

unique experience, the audience enjoyed it just as much.

Each game lasted for 5 minutes but for the players, it was a very long, sweaty 5 minutes.

The final game of MCRT162 against MART260 was one of

the most exciting games. While MART260 played exceptionally well, MCRT162 shone with their zorb skills

and won the title. The skill and perseverance exhibited in the game by Tr. Raj of MCRT162 won him the ‘Best

Footballer Award’. MMRT95 walked away with the ‘Best Fellowship Award’ for their amazing participation.

Of course, in terms of having a “Zorb-ball” of a time the ladies and twinklers weren’t far behind! Read more about

their antics in the Circler magazine Cinnamon Spice.

Someone’s on a Rolls!

By Yusuf Miyajiwala

They see me Rolling, they Whistling,

Cuz my brand new Ghost is just so bright and shiny

Oh it’s just so bright and shiny

It’s just so new and shiny

It’s just so bright and shiny

Look at it, it’s bright and shiny...

That’s the song that’s playing in Sriram Duuvri’s brand

new Rolls Royce Ghost, his dream car.

Ranked No. 1 among high-end luxury cars, even higher than the pricier Phantom, the Ghost lives up to its name

by haunting your memory long after you’ve seen it.

Boasting a twin-turbo 6.6 litre V 12 engine paired with a satellite-aided gearbox that reads the roadscape ahead of

you and shifts transmission after anticipating your needs, this ultra-luxury car, one of 5 in Chennai, can go

from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, which makes it one of the fastest cars in the world.

It definitely found its way into our hearts extremely fast, and now it’s got us wondering when we’ll be allowed to

find our way into the car’s plush leather interior! (Hint,

hint!)

Of course, keeping in mind the car’s mileage makes me

wonder if one day Sriram won’t announce that he’s buying a petrol bunk!

A Truly Super Sunday

By Jitesh Kochar

"The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others" - Albert

Schweitzer

We at MSRT 159 firmly believe in that principle.

On Sunday the 20th of September this year, we executed

three separate projects on the same day:

Government Hospital - When our chairman Deepak Dugar got a call on Saturday night from Government

Hospital asking him to cremate 14 unclaimed and unidentified bodies. Our chairman didn't even think

twice; we carried out the project early in the morning, and I’m sure those souls are resting in peace now.

Annai Fathima Child Welfare Centre – This institution

takes care of around 183 children, and they needed some basic necessities like emergency lights, Fans, Upma Rava

and biscuits packets. Around 150kgs of Upma Rava and 600 packets of biscuits were distributed to the

children – Strike two.

Lakshmi Gardens - Our Twinklers planted potted saplings, and were made to understand the importance

of "Go Green". We just did not stop there we created something beautiful through wastes of the house.

Last but not the least donations of 18 Relief Kits for Assam Flood Relief Fund through RTI.

Is there a better way to spend your Sunday?

BONDING AT ITS BEST By Vijay Gulecha

DATE : 14TH – 15TH AUG 2015

VENUE : RADISSON TEMPLE BAY RESORT

A fun-filled stayover with over 40 people including

tablers, circlers and twinklers. From music to dance, from just chilling in the pool to just pooling in one room

for a fun-filled time – that’s what this event was all about!

Our fun started the very first evening, with a cake-

cutting; it was twinkler Dev’s birthday, and then a super-hit, super musical evening led by singer Anuj, who made

us dance, and made us sing, and took us way back to our college days! Needless to say, the evening went on for

quite a while, reluctantly ending at about 3 a.m, with super-drunk tablers being escorted back to their rooms

by their wives!

The next morning started late, but beautifully – with some people choosing to start it by cycling, some people

jogging, and some by just jumping into the extremely tempting pool, right there in front of our rooms. After

that we had a wonderful breakfast, and got straight back into the pool. Some of us even went water-zorbing, which

was great fun!

The day started like that, and just got better and better.

We hit the beach after lunch to enjoy a game of

volleyball, and for some water-sports.

IT WAS TRULY “BONDING AT ITS BEST”.

Reminiscing

By Sarrah Miyajiwala

Times change, people change, but music remains. Here

are a few songs that take us back to our college days,

Hotel California by the Eagles – This song’s had us

crooning along to its haunting music since it released in

1977. A true classic!

Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd – This is a favourite

of the ‘hippie’ generation! And why not? This song gives

you a high all by itself!

Hey Jude by The Beatles – Wonderfully mellow, this

song ranks No. 1 in my list of songs that you can sing

along to. An immediate mood-changer!

Riders on the Storm by The Doors – This song was one

of the favourite backtracks for video games. And today,

it’s perfect to listen to when you’re driving in the rain!

Smells like Teen Spirit by Nirvana – This song makes

you nod your head. And stamp your feet. And throw

something. The perfect rebel song!

Then there was Led Zeppelin and Queen and Bob Marley

and so many more – this was a time for legendary music!

And now we have Justin Bieber. How the world turns.

What do you meme?

Memes have taken over the internet, introducing us to a new form

of funny. And considering how manly our tablers are, we thought

this meme would be ideal. Featuring 1800s boxer Mike Conley, you’ll

soon see why this meme is called ‘The Overly Manly Man’!
