A complete Lockdown was declared in India on March 24th until May 3rd. All the institutes and administrative bodies are closed since the world is facing the pandemic of CORONA. In this duration online teaching is in trend. Taking advantage of it Competitive coding competition was organised. Competitive coding has various benefits it gives a head start to the students about technical interviews. Gives them an idea as to where they stand technically and how much they need to improve also a fun way to study in quarantine. In order to utilize the time during the quarantine team of “ThinkCode-Programmers Club of MHSSCE”, Department of Computer Engineering introduced the first chapter of “Codentine” in association with “Code Chef”.

Outcome of Competitive Coding Competition:

Codentine was a competition organised in association with “Code Chef”, not only with a motive to get solution to the problem statements but was an efficient platform designated during the times of quarantine for talented like-minded programmers to come together to compete and learn in an interesting way.

Competitive Programming is a brain game that tests a programmer’s problem-solving skills. By solving progressively hard problems in live-contests, a participant’s analytical and rational thinking intensifies.

Contest programmers are usually faster coders. Solving challenging problems in a short period of time will get any programmer accustomed to strict deadlines, which is usually an advantage in the professional work pace.

Contest programmers develop many skills that are key points to software engineering. The best software companies still value candidates based on their technical aptitude. Some consider technical aptitude a good proxy for general smartness and include it as part of their screening process.

Most programmers don’t have anything tangible to verify some of the claims on their resume, especially if they’re fresh out of college or seeking internships as a high school student.

Results from online coding competitions show where a programmer stacks up compared to their peers. Competitive programming communities have leader boards that list competitors’ performance in contests.

Based on the intricate and abbreviated nature of competitive programming, it takes intense focus to excel at it. As a by-product of competing and strict, continual training, competitive programmers usually develop the ability to focus better and longer.

Coding competitions are a great way for young coders to apply what they know in a fun context and improve their analytical and problem-solving skills. By entering coding competitions, kids can get that real-world experience of coding to solve a problem or hone their coding skills

The competition was appreciated by the participants through their positive feedback and the competition was conducted throughout the nation and students from various colleges across India actively participated.
