We know that Hurricane Sandy has caused much destruction along the eastern seaboard affecting so many families (many of whom are our own Wagner families) and we hope that any damages to your physical property can be addressed as we move forward during the next few weeks and months. As a Wagner community, we are fully committed to assisting those in need right now. The Student Government Association is serving as a clearinghouse for all volunteer efforts and donations from the Wagner community. Please visit the wagnercares.org website to find out how you can get involved. If you or someone that you know has been personally affected and needs assistance, please contact any of us in the Dean’s Office by email (see below) or phone 718-390-3423 and we will be glad to sit with you to talk and/or figure out next steps. We urge you to keep your personal health and well-being and that of your friends at the forefront. Reverend James Smith, our Chaplain (x3281), any of the folks in our chaplaincy (Sister Elaine Schenk, Rabbi Unger), and our counselors (x3158) are available to assist you through this difficult time in addition to the campus life staff and your advisors. Center for Academic & Career Engagement

ETIQUETTE DINNER (a FREE fancy dinner for students!) Wednesday, November 28 Faculty Dining Room 6 PM Seating is limited for this event. Please visit CACE (Union 3rd floor) or email [email protected] to reserve a space.

The newly created Center for Academic and Career Engagement (CACE) supports students from their transition to Wagner and throughout the college experience as they select a major, consider study abroad options, gain internship experience, and develop leadership skills, and assists in the application of these skills to a process of lifelong career development. Students find their own answers to the question, “What’s your Wagner plan?” as they follow a 4-step process of self-inquiry, major and career exploration, reflection and decision making, and strategic action – either a job search or graduate school pursuit. The proactive and integrated services offered to all students include academic advising and support, tutoring, services for students with disabilities, major exploration, personal and career assessments, career counseling, resume and cover letter preparation, interview preparation, evaluation of employment objectives, and assis-tance in planning internship and job search strategies. Students who utilize the Center can connect to career and graduate school resources including job and internship listings, employer literature, a mentorship program with Wagner alums, and networking and skill-building workshops offered on a regular basis to support students as they explore various career paths. The Center adds value to the students' educational experiences by assuring that the resources of the College are available to our diverse population of students as they prepare for the world of work.

Center for Academic & Career Engagement

We would like to formally welcome Dr. Geoffrey Hempill, our new Senior Associate Dean/Director for the Center for Academic and Career Engagement, to the Campus Life team. He is an expert in the areas of career development, graduate school preparation, and merit award advisement. We are excited to work with Dr. Hempill as he lays the foundation for our newly created Center for Academic and Career Engagement. If any student would like to make an appointment with Dr. Hempill, please call CACE at 718-390-3181 or walk in to the office suite (next to the Hawk’s Nest). Please join us in welcoming Dr. Hempill!
