July 12, 2015. Fredy Mauricio López Romero, graduate of AIU’s Bachelor of Science in Psychology program has been working as a Psychologist, has been a volunteer and is the founder of the Psychology Department at the Regional Hospital in Honduras.
He also completed a Master of Arts in Leadership Train-ing at Mid-America Christian University. Currently he is
undertaking a Masters in Edu-cation at European Atlantic University. He is a professor at two Universities: Universi-dad Tecnológica de Honduras (UTH) and Universidad Ped-agógica nacional Francisco Morazán
Lastly, he states “All these ac-complishments wouldn’t have been possible without Atlantic International University. you are a blessing in my life.”

“It is my pleasure to write this letter to Atlantic In-
ternational University (AIU), to state my experience at AIU. After the completion my mast diploma I wanted to pursue my bachelor degree, but since I took my job it was difficult to work and attend the studies classes at the same time. I did contact lots of Universi-ties and college but all went in vain, either I had to do the job or higher study. I tried to search part time bachelor degree study but here also nothing worked out for me.
One day while I was looking for Distance bachelor Educa-tion College and Universi-ties, luckily, I found AIU and decided to enroll here.
When I joined the AIU, I realized I had made the right choice. Particularly, I was stimulated very much with the Phase I of the program, which was mainly focused on back-ground information of the prospective candidate.

Leadership in Project Management
Introduction Xiong et. al (2008) affirms
that effectiveness and efficien-cy should be integrated into the project leadership skills if any private or public company has to be successful in the day to day operations. However, this overview makes available a comprehensible thought-ful on how effective leader-ship skills can be integrated into the project management, predominantly in the private sector. Project management fosters on planning, orga-nizing and leading.
Leading includes co-ordinating, directing and motivating in order to finish a particular one time task. Furthermore, the connection between project management and project leadership set the paradigm of the success-ful projects and spell out the
leadership styles of good project leaders. Thus, leader-ship is dynamic and not static. Leadership is narrower than management. Leadership focuses on change and not policy. Additionally, project leaders should be innovative and see what other managers cannot see. Although, leaders are born; project managers can be trained into leader-ship. Therefore, companies that embrace leadership skills are globally successive and attain cost benefits in vari-ous projects while companies that are not able to integrate its project managers into the leadership skills bare high risk of failures and accumulate a lot of losses within their spe-cific projects. specializations. Employees definitely become effective leaders and become more efficient in the day to day project operations. They will be able to out fight competi-tors and reinvent new services and products. Depending on the project situations project leaders will be able to apply contingency approach in order to attain organizational goals. Thus, they will automatically become entrepreneurs or in-novative, team prayers, risk takers, motivators and focus on change. They will be able to perceive what other execu-tive directors cannot perceive. Good project leaders are able to set accurate paradigms in an organization such as Chreso University is one the most successful Christian University in zambia. It has trained its members in various skills, in-deed Chreso University is the open system ready to adapt to any new technology. Although the institution is young our management has been suc-cessful because our emphasis is on leadership development such as formal training, coach-ing, and career advancement and enhances team work.
The findings suggested that leaders gain authority mainly from their personality strengths. Thus, personal traits in leadership skills themselves cannot be acquired by train-ing, but they can only be mod-ified by training and experi-ence. However, other private universities in zambia headed for failure in their projects because they could not effec-tively outline the importance of good governance in project management and furthermore they could not effectively implement the total quality management (TQM) aspect and main features of good governance such as equity/fairness, accountability, rule of raw, social responsibility and transparency in their project management. Governance is the course of action of deci-sions making and implemen-tation (Sakamba, 2013).
ConclusionProjects managers must
identify the factors that af-fect project management and make quick decisions. Decision making includes non
programmed decisions making and management decision making. Thus, if project man-agers possess leadership skills will effectively apply personal decision making or non-pro-grammed decisions making without difficulties in their endeavours projects activities.
Some of these tools of non-programmed decision making are decision tree and force field models. However, management decisions making have less implication in the executing of project activities because they are applied in accordance with the laid down policies of an organization.
Fredrick Chiluba embarked on liberalise of economy. Although we had qualified managers but they could not quickly foresee and handle the pleasure of foreign products and services that were coming from developed countries. zambian local products were inferior in terms of quality and therefore they could not com-petitive favourably on the free market. Leadership skills play a major role in manager’s day to day operations because they can see what other executive directors cannot see.
Up to now zambia is living in the Chiluba’s error. Only fewer zambian manufacturing companies are strangling and initiating change in the free market (Sakamba, 2015).
Leadership skills must exist at every level of manage-ment or department in order to enhance project corporate governance and strategy. Turning any company into the learning organizational enhances leadership skills and styles. Study is not an easy walkSonja, tell us about this edu-cational experience. How has the learning process based in Andragogy impacted your life professionally and personally?
As I have decided to earn degree at AIU –I know the American way of study. It is
quite different to Austrian and other European countries.
So therefore also my experience was on a high level. It was strongly asked for discipline as well as time and work management. The impact which I got, and by the way always get, is a very high scientific understanding. Re-specting all requirements took me to become a severe and specially performed person.
Academically speaking, tell us the level of AIU as com-pared to other Universities.
AIU has a high quality level and is much respected in other universities. not only the fact of English speaking and writing, but also the structure and requirements are more specialized than in all other universities in Europe.

To me it was especially important being respected and having assistance all the time –if you really want to learn.
Self-service and discipline is very much important. High standing level is reached on discipline as well as respect on a scientific approach.

AIU Degree has been essen-tial for my professional career. I am responsible for clinical studies –therefore a degree is helpful because you have learned to discuss critically and you are looking forward to scientific use.

Tell us about your actual job and how has the knowledge that you have gained at At-lantic International Univer-sity helped you.
I am responsible for manag-ing clinical study at Medical University in Vienna. I take care of new chemotherapy regimens tested by phase I-IV at patients. Treatment controlling, documentation a safety management is also my task as well as hearing contracts and business facts like recruitment, skills and
clinical management. next month I will start as a clinical representative to find miss-ing links between clinical management and business. To discuss protocols also belongs to my business.

I have published some articles, performed some pre-sentations and got the position of university assistant.

sonja Kickmaier is a graduate from Austria. She has already completed
both a Master of Science (Clinical Studies) and a Doctorate of Health Care Administration.
Currently, she is a Private Docent and a Manager for Clinical
Studies.
AIU brings you to a high level of education! But you should know –AIU expects that you work harder than other univer-sities. Study is not an easy walk but a hard and consequent way of getting a degree. After you have got yours, you will be well educated and more qualified than other students. You will be diligent and disci-plined. You will understand in a scientific way, because you will learn to learn. AIU expects you not only to learn but to understand and thus be cor-rect in all your decisions. If you get your degree you will have a feeling of being especial, and also you will know you have a high level education. Because of that, you will be respected and you will respect others.

to create great stress in us. What to do? What we have to do is “learn to learn”.
Learn to learn is a concept used in a work product of a report that was made nearly 20 years ago for UnESCO (United nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Or-ganization) and having the current situation of the world society, it seems we have not learned much from it.
The work is the Report to UNESCO of the International Commission on Education for the XXI Century. The Commission met from 1993 to 1996 in different countries
and by eight times, making the final report in new Delhi, India in January 1996.
“Learn to know involves, first, learning to learn, exer-cising attention, memory and thinking.” Delors (2000, p. 93).
We are told that we must “learn to learn”, but in prac-tice what we have to do to live in today’s society and achieve a life that is satisfactory to us, a life in which we can develop
our potential and feel full?If we were students this
means that the knowledge have to be looked for in a different way as memorizing concepts: I have to learn to look for information, to sub-mit a correct report of it and apply knowledge in solving something. The Jamie Oliver Food Founda-tion was founded in 2002. It runs

Kite is being designed to block mos-quitoes from detecting and biting
humans with a goal of reducing human suffering from malaria, dengue, West nile virus, and other mosquito-borne diseases. Kite technology is based on breakthrough research at the University of California Riverside (UCR), featured in the scientific journal Nature, demon-strating that scientists could manipulate mosquitoes’ ability to detect CO2 and find human hosts. ieCrowd acquired the technology in 2010.
Mosquito-borne diseases are a major global health issue. Over 3.4 billion people (half the world’s population) live in regions where there is risk of contracting malaria. Over 200 mil-lion people get malaria each year and one child dies every minute from the disease. Other serious mosquito-borne
diseases that affect hundreds of mil-lions of people include chikungunya and lymphatic filariasis.

Kite, the new repellant
For almost five decades, scientists have theorized that a significant par-
ticle may exist beyond the realms of our current knowledge of subatomic physics, but proving this has been difficult.
This is no longer the case, as scien-tists now say that they have found the much sought-after pentaquark, first predicted to exist in the 1960s. After
50 years of searching, the particle has turned up at the LHCb experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider.
Most significantly of all, the discov-ery indicates that there may be a new type of matter –albeit one that lives for one billion trillion trillionth of a second before it decays.
The pentaquark is made of five quarks –which are the smallest par-ticles that we know to exist. In differ-ent combinations they produce larger particles. For example, groups of three quarks are known as baryons, which include things like protons.

“The gut-brain axis is the collec-tive communication pathway
between the gastrointestinal tract and the brain,” explains John Cryan, a pro-fessor of anatomy and neuroscience at University College Cork in Ireland.
Some of the information travels along the vagus nerve, which extends from our guts to our brains. Cryan says the idea that the two regions are so in-terconnected should not be a surprise.
“Think of phrases in our everyday language,” Cryan says. We have “gut instincts” and “gut feelings,” he notes.
“We refer to butterflies in our tummy if we’re feeling a bit anxious. So we portray a raft of human emo-tions directly in our gut,” he says.
A few years back, Cryan and his colleagues published the findings of a simple experiment. They took a strain of lactobacillus –known as Lactobacil-lus rhamnosus– that’s one of the most commonly used probiotics.
They fed it to one group of mice ev-ery day for a month, and they looked to see if the rodents’ behavior changed. The results, Cryan says, were striking.
“What we found was that the ani-mals that were fed the lactobacillus –compared to those that were just fed a regular broth– were a lot less anxious. Some researchers decided to quan-tify just how much a tree on a
street could improve health. They col-lected the health records of 31,000 adult residents of Toronto, Canada, which included cardio-metabolic conditions, household income, years of educa-tion and their perception of their own health. Researchers combined this data with satellite imagery and public data on half a million trees in Toronto.
The study, published in Scien-tific Reports, found that planting 10 or more trees in a city block, on average, increased how someone rated their health and decreased cardio-metabolic conditions. looks futuristically sleek: Italy’s Wind Turbine Viaduct called “Solar Wind.”
Southern Italy is dotted with unused viaducts, and rather than spending $50 million to tear them down, town officials near Calabria held a competi-tion open to designers and engineers asking them to come up with an envi-ronmentally conscious way to re-use the existing structures.

La Paz’s Mi Teleférico (My Cable Car) only opened a year ago, but it has
already improved the lives of thousands of people living in the densely populat-ed Bolivian city. The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (BS) program objec-
tive is to help students develop a broad foundation in fundamental engineering principles and liberal arts together with the depth of disciplin-ary knowledge needed to succeed in a career in mechanical engineer-ing or related field including a wide variety of advanced technological and management careers. The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (BS) program is offered online via distance learn-ing. After evaluating both academic record and life experience, AIU staff working in conjunction with Faculty and Academic Advisors will assist students in setting up a custom-made program, designed on an individual basis. This flexibility to meet student needs is seldom found in other dis-tance learning programs. Our online
program does not require all students to take the same subjects/courses, use the same books, or learning materials. Instead, the online Bachelor of Me-chanical Engineering (BS) curriculum is designed individually by the student and academic advisor. AIU is incorporated in the state of Hawaii. As a University based in the U.S., AIU meets all state and federal laws of the United States. There is no distinction between the programs offered through AIU and those of traditional campus based pro-grams with regards to the following: your degree, transcript and other graduation documents from AIU follow the same standard used by all U.S. col-leges and universities. AIU graduation documents can include an apostille and authentication from the U.S. Department of State to facilitate their use internationally. Authentication from the U.S. De-partment of State is a process that will ultimately bind a letter signed by the U.S. Secretary of State (permanently with a metal ring) to your gradua-tion documents.
If a student outside the U.S. wishes to carry out a particular procedure within a country’s Department of Education regarding their degree earned at AIU, such procedures are to be carried out independently by the student. AIU respects the unique rules and regula-tions of each country and does not intervene or influence the respective authorities. We recommend prospective students who intend to carry out such procedures outside the U.S. to verify in detail the steps and requirements needed in or-der to be fully informed.

It is acknowledged that the act of learning is endogenous, (from within), rather than exog-enous. This fact is the underlying rationale for “Distance Learning”, in all of the programs of-fered by AIU. The combination of the underly-ing principles of student “self instruction”, (with guidance), collaborative development of curriculum unique to each student, and flexibility of time and place of study, provides the ideal learning environment to satisfy individual needs. AIU is an institution of experiential learning and nontraditional edu-cation at a distance. There are no classrooms and attendance is not required.

With access to a global catalog created and maintained collectively by more than 9,000 participating institutions, AIU students have secured excellent research tools for their study programs.
The AIU online library contains over 2 billion records and over 300 million bibliographic records that are increasing day by day. The sources spanning thou-sands of years and virtually all forms of human expression. There are files of all kinds, from antique inscribed stones to e-books, form wax engravings to MP3s, DVDs and websites. In addition to the archives, the library AIU Online offers electronic access to more than 149,000 e-books, dozens of databases and more than 13 million full-text articles with pictures included. Being able to access 60 databases and 2393 periodicals with more than 18 million items, guarantees the information required to perform the assigned research project. Users will find that many files are enriched with artistic creations on the covers, indexes, re-views, summaries and other information. The records usually have information attached from important libraries. The user can quickly assess the relevance of the information and decide if it is the right source.

AIU is striving to regain the significance of the concept of education, which is rooted into the Latin “educare”, meaning “to pull out”, breaking loose from the paradigm of most 21st century universities with their focus on “digging and placing information” into students’ heads rather than teaching them to think.
For AIU, the generation of “clones” that some tra-ditional universities are spreading throughout the real world is one of the most salient reasons for today’s ills. In fact, students trained at those educational institu-tions never feel a desire to “change the world” or the current status quo; instead, they adjust to the environ-ment, believe everything is fine, and are proud of it all.
IN A woRLD where knowledge and mostly informa-tion expire just like milk, we must reinvent university as a whole in which each student, as the key player, is UnIQUE within an intertwined environment.
This century’s university must generate new knowledge bits although this may entail its separation from both the administrative bureaucracy and the faculty that evolve there as well.
AIU thinks that a university should be increasingly integrated into the “real world”, society, the economy, and the holistic human being. As such, it should con-centrate on its ultimate goal, which is the student, and get him/her deeply immersed into a daily praxis of paradigm shifts, along with the Internet and research, all these being presently accessible only to a small minority of the world community.
