Aggie Ring Day

On 21 September 2018, the members of the FTMBA Class of 2019 received their Aggie Rings at the Association of Former Students. One of the proudest days in an Aggie’s life is the day they receive their piece of Aggie gold. The Aggie ring was created in 1894 by

E.C. Jonas. Since its creation, the design has only changed twice, once in 1933, to standardize manufacturing and again in 1963, to reflect the University’s name change from the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, to Texas A&M University.

Three of our Veterans were awarded Aggie Ring Scholarships through generous donations from Tom and Judy Wisdom, Class of 1960. Tom served in Vietnam and continues to support Aggie Veterans through charitable contributions. Bryan Thames, Zack

Bingaman, and Alex Keskinen were among the first Aggies to receive their rings on Ring Day. The Class of 2019 also hosted special guest, LTC John D. Williams, Class of 97, who came to speak to the class on the importance of the Aggie Ring and what being an

Aggie has meant to him in his career. We would like to give a special thanks to LTC Williams for attending the event and imparting his wisdom on the class.

Career Conferences Over the past month, our students have attended numerous informational sessions, interviews, and career conferences in

search of that highly coveted job or internship offer. We would like to take the opportunity to highlight their hard work at these events. Students traveled to Detroit, Michigan to attend the National Black MBA Association Conference from 25-29

September. They also attended the Veterans MBA Conference in Chicago, Illinois from 11-13 October.

On November 16 and 17, the FTMBA Program will be holding the annual Military Preview Weekend for prospective Veteran students. It will be held in College Station, and the tentative agenda for the weekend is displayed on the left. On the evening of the 16th, the MVA will be hosting a happy hour event at West End Elixir (100 Church

Ave College Station, TX 77840) from 8-11pm. We will be hosting a special guest, LTC Nate Springer (pictured above), who will talk to the group about his experiences in the Army and transitioning from the Military to academia. We will then be walking to Kyle Field to attend Midnight Yell. We hope you will join us for this event to help us recruit

some prospective students to the program.
