52% of the participants responded that the techniques instructors are and have been using to teach writing are not effective.

Writing has grown to be about much more than just grammar

and structure due to advancement in

technology. We now have computer

programs that can fix our grammar

structure and punctuation mistakes.

One thing technology cant do is think creatively.

Writing creatively is what sets one writing piece apart from another.

Reading more and a different variety of types was a way suggested by participants in a survey to improve ones writing skills.

85% of the participants agreed that

possessing writing skills is crucial

to ones success in life.

Adequate writing skills are required

by almost all jobs in the world.

Participants gave suggestions on how

someone could improve their writing skills and

abilities the majority of the answers included reading and writing more, not only

more but also a wider variety of types. These

results indicate that people KNOW ways they can

improve their skills BUT CHOOSE not too.
