Not about technology 13

Monday, October 14, 13You can have all the tools you want, but it is all a waste unless it is being utilized. It comes down to people.

As far as technology goes, it needs to be more widely used in the classroom. As a high school student, we have all these great iPads but we're still taking notes in notebooks and getting paper handouts and lugging around these giant textbooks. It seems like we're not using them to their full potential. In middle school, I feel like we had really nice computers but really only used them in science to use Excel and etc or to make PowerPoints, which are also fast approaching their expiration date it seems. Because we are living in the information age, it feels like we should be moving toward using technology more because the outside world uses it more. Teachers will need to control it, mostly because of social media (I find myself checking feeds of various sorts during lectures, can't help it), but once that's done I feel like technology is a valuable asset.
