To find out if you have cancer the doctor would do x-rays and blood tests. Cancer is a disease that grows in your cells. All living things have cells. Cancer happens when cells that are not normal cells grow and spread very fast. Normal cell grow and die cancer cells dont die. This is how cancer begins in your body.

What happens when you get cancer? Cancer cells are the very small units that make up all living things, including the human body. Cancer happens when cells that are not normal grow and spread very fast in the human body. A growing tumor becomes a lump of cancer cells that can destroy the normal cells around the tumor and damage the bodys healthy tissues. You cant catch it from someone else who has it. Cancer isnt caused by germs like colds or the flu. These facts are important for you to know about cancer.

What types of cancer are there?Breast cancer is a kind of tumor that develops in the cells of a persons breast. Leukemia is the most common type of cancer kids get, but it is still very rare. Leukemia involves the blood and blood forming organs, such as the bone marrow. Bone marrow is the innermost part of bones where blood cells are first made. A kid with leukemia produces lots of abnormal white blood cell in the bone marrow. Anemia, one of the more common blood disorders, is when the level of healthy red blood cell in the body becomes too low. This can lead to health problems because the red blood cells carry oxygen to the body. Anemia can cause stress and being tired. Hodgkins disease is a type of lymphoma and is the third most common type of cancer.

How is cancer treated?Radiation therapy is one form of treatment. for kids or adults who have cancer. For example the sun gives off a kind of radiation. Each persons treatment depends on the kind of cancer he or she has. Cancer can be treated with radiation therapy alone or in a combination with chemotherapy. This is how cancer is treated.
