The Master of Science (MS) in Nutrition/Dietetics provides advanced training in nutrition,emphasizing public policy, communication, and clinical research. The program focuses ontraining health professionals to serve the health and nutritional needs of urban and interna-tional populations and to be leaders in reducing health disparities. The Master of Science (MS) in Cancer Biology, Prevention and Control is offered in partnership with Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. This research-intensive program focuses on the causes and treatments of cancer, emphasizingtopics in genetics, cell growth and development, the immune system, disease prevention,and minority health disparities. The Master of Science (MS) in Applied Statistics develops advanced skills in using statis-tics and data mining to extract valid information from oceans of data. The Professional Science Master’s (PSM) option includes an internship to prepare students for careersin the business, nonprofit, or government sectors. Dr. Valbona Bejleri; [email protected]

The Master of Science (MS) in Speech-Language Pathology is accredited by the Councilon Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the AmericanSpeech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Graduates are prepared to become ASHA-certified in speech-language pathology, knowledgeable of research in communication disorders, and skilled in diagnosis and treatment. The Master of Science (MS) in Counseling prepares individuals for professional careersin schools, mental health agencies, rehabilitative agencies, and in higher education. The National Center for Urban Education offers practice-oriented, research-driven, results-focused graduate curricula in teacher preparation and leadership development for urbanschools. All programs integrate dual-language education and special education into thecurricula. [email protected]

UDC’s innovative Master of Business Administration (MBA) integrates sustainability, entre-preneurship, and globalization with a solid core of business fundamentals to produce creativegraduates with an entrepreneurial mindset ready to provide leadership in private and publicsector organizations. Paying for your graduate studies

Annual full-time tuition and fees in 2010–11 are $8,200 for DC residents, $9,200 for MetroArea residents, and $15,200 for nonresidents. Full-time, degree-seeking graduate studentscan apply for teaching assistantships, research assistantships, graduate assistantships,traineeships, or scholarships.
