1. We respect the laws of the game and whilst playing hard we never deliberately aim to hurt another player. If we injure another player we look to assist them, shake their hand and show that we are sportsmen first and foremost.

2. Rugby is a physical game and passions do rise, so if an argument arises we walk away and do not inflame the situation. Players do make mistakes and make bad tackles. We do not retaliate! If you do retaliate or get involved unnecessarily either the referee or your coach will remove you from the field of play.

3. We do not use abusive, foul or discriminatory language, or let any abusive language from the opposition affect our game. We stay focused on our game plan and on playing well. If you get emotive you will make mistakes and let your team down. If you do this you will likely be substituted.

4. We do not argue or abuse the Referee or Assistant Referees. Referees do occasionally make mistakes, however they are doing their best for you. If you do offend, you will likely be marched back 10 metres or yellow carded. This lets our team down. Only the team Captain may ask the Referee for clarification. Remember, if you alienate the Referee then 50/50 decisions will not go your way.

5. We encourage and support each other at training and in matches, both on and off the field. We have pride as a team and we don’t make someone feel bad if they make a mistake. We say “don’t worry” and give them a pat on the back. Everyone is trying and no one deliberately make mistakes. Lead as you like to be led, support as you like to be supported and respect your team mates. Rugby is a team game.

6. We give our full commitment and effort at all times. It is important to give your best and this means hard work. We listen to the coaches, we turn up for training, and we make sure we are organised as players, with all our gear, water, and positive attitudes. If you don’t turn up or don’t put the effort in you can’t expect to play. Players will be selected on commitment as well as form. Squad positions will be competitive and must be earned. This will be achieved through a combination of fitness, ability and mental attitude. We always support our team mates.
