Canine Chic toma su inspiración de dos importantes figuras en la moda durante los años 50, el diseñador Cristobal Balenciaga y el fotógrafo Richard Avedon. La colección se compone de tres estilismos que parten del vestido baby doll y la silueta trapezoidal, característica de Balenciaga.La estética de las fotografías que Richard Avedon publica en esta década en Vogue o Harper’s Bazaar, en las que en muchas ocasiones aparecen perros como compañeros de iconos de estilo o de la re-aleza, lideres de sociedad, artistas y modelos, se ve reflejada en los bordados y estampados. Los tres vestidos se caracterizan por el gran volumen conseguido gracias al trablajo de tableado realizado en polipiel dorado. Las partes superiores de los vestidos están realizados en tarlatana lavada con estampado de caras de perros de distintas razas (carlino, dálmata y labrador) que posteriormente han sido bordados con cuentas negras y doradas, recordando piezas de Cristobal Balenciaga en las que los bordados eran los protagonistas. Las tres piezas están forradas con algodón de distintos estampados, fondo negro con lunares blancos, print de dálmatas, y un pattern de diseño propio de perros y corazones.

Canine chic is inspired by the designer Cristobal Balenciaga and the photographer Richard Avedon, two influential figures in the world of fashion during the 1950s.The collection present three looks based on the baby doll silhouette and trapezoidal shape, characteristic of Cristobal Balenciaga. The aesthetics of Richard Avedon’s photographs published in Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar, where dogs appear as companions to style icons and royalty, society leaders, artists and models, it’s reflected in the embroidery design and print. The three dresses have been created entirely in gold faux leather, achieving big volume thanks to the pleating work.The bodices of the dresses are made from cotton muslin printed with dog faces embroidered with gold and black beads. The cotton lining of the pieces was printed with three differents designs, black screen with white dots, dalmatians, and own design pattern with hearts and dogs.
