Project Purpose• To develop a proactive and relevant career and job placement services design that
meets the changing and personalized needs of our students, alumni, and area
employers.
• To implement a service design that assists students and alumni in preparing for, and
finding, employment while pursuing and completing their educational goals at GRCC.
• To improve the integration and utilization of technology solutions for current students,
alumni and employers that will provide access to electronic job placement services, job
search information and preparation, employer connections, internship opportunities,
and other related components.

Handshake Utilization Data
• More than 2,600 employers, nearly 1,800 in Michigan and
more than 1,000 headquartered in West Michigan have
posted to Handshake
• 1,200 approved job postings, 600 in West Michigan
• These jobs are specifically targeting GRCC students and
alumni. We receive 25 new postings each day!
• Students and alumni can job search and apply
all through the Handshake system!
Exploring Internship Capabilities
through Handshake
• Currently 170 internships posted*
• 136 of those are located in Michigan
• 96 postings are here in West Michigan
*Because some postings contain multiple openings, the number
of individual internship opportunities is higher.

Will be promoting at Grad Fest (Tuesday, April 4th)
for our new graduates.
Also using this opportunity to build relationships with alumni-
owned businesses, and alumni in certain business sectors.
Inviting alumni back to campus to work with current students
(i.e. speaking, recruiting, networking).
