Page 2: Capital Campaign Update 2010

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Greetings on this Easter Sunday!

On Easter we celebrate the fulfillment of God’s promiseof new life through the resurrection of our Lord, JesusChrist. We also celebrate the assurance of His abidingpresence in the Church through the Holy Spirit.

Here at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church we have experienced thefulfillment and promise of Easter. Our Church is pulsating with life with uplifting liturgies;numerous ministries and programs for children, youth, families, and adults; and big Massattendances. Many parishioners have been generous with their talents, time, and resources. Wehave many friends from other places and sectors of society that support us and believe in ourmission. Our parish has also been well promoted through media and technology. Indeed, we haveput Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on the map of Los Angeles!

On this Easter Sunday, it would be a fitting time to give our parishioners a report on our CapitalCampaign for the restoration and renovation of our church. First, allow me to give you thefollowing financial update as of February 28, 2010.

I want to thank those who have fulfilled their pledge. Your support has made it possible to startour renovation and restoration project. I would like to remind those who have not started to beginfulfilling their pledge. I realize that these are tough economic times, but those of us who have notbeen greatly affected by the economic crisis should fulfill their promise to the parish. We need thesupport of every parishioner to realize our dream of restoring and renovating our beloved church.

Many of you have suggested that we inspire others to fulfill their pledge and to get new supportersby starting our renovation with the money we have accumulated so far. In consultation with theFinance Committee and the Construction Committee, I am providing this report.

These are exciting times for Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. We thank God for His blessings. Maywe continue to build, not only our church but most of all our faith in the Risen Lord all the time.Happy, Happy Easter!

Yours in Christ

Reverend Rodel G. Balagtas, D.Min.
