Cancellation Policy: Cancellations for non AO members will be

accepted up to 3 days before the date of the course, without

penalty. After that, no refund will be given.

Cost for non-members: 50$

Course Description: Interceptive or thodontic select topics will be discussed

including functional shifts, dental development abnormalities such as dental

impactions, facial growth modification, and habit control. Multidisciplinary cases

comprising combined surgical treatment, pre-prosthetic orthodontics, combined

perio-prostho-orthodontic treatment, juvenile aggressive periodontitis and cleft

palate and orthodontic case studies will additionally be reviewed.

DMD MS

Learning Objective(s): Review diagnostic cr iter ia and treatment

protocols for interceptive and multidisciplinary orthodontic treatment

Biography: Whitney R. Mostafiz, D.M.D., M.S. is a Board-Certified

Orthodontist in NYC on the Upper East Side.

She is also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department

of Orthodontics at NYU.

A Long Island native, Dr. Whitney completed dental school at Harvard

School of Dental Medicine with honors.

She studied Human Biology and Visual Arts at Brown University,

also graduating with honors. During her residency training at

University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Whitney was fortunate to travel

to Sydney, Australia twice to perform and publish award-winning

research on obstructive sleep apnea and oral appliance therapy. Her

passion to educate has led to presentations at conferences, study clubs,

as well as on the radio. Dr. Whitney's research additionally contributed

to a Masters degree. She has treated both children and adults with

traditional braces and aligner therapy. In addition, Dr. Whitney has

experience with combined surgical treatment and seeing patients with

craniofacial abnormalities.

Dr. Whitney is also an active leader in the dental community. She

was chosen to participate in the 2015American Association of

Orthodontists Emerging Leaders Conference. She was also selected

for the Charley Schulz Competition and presented her research in May

2015. Dr. Whitney is currently president of the New York chapter of

the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity. She is also on the

2017and2018 steering committee for NYC Give Kids a Smile. She

isan active member of the American Association of Orthodontists,

Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, New York County Dental

Society, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Whitney keeps an active and healthy lifestyle that she encourages

with her patients. She loves topractice yoga and run, and even

finished the Chicago Marathon in2013. She enjoys drawing, painting,

photography, and graphic design.

President’s Message - Jennifer B Tipograph , DDS

Hello fraters. I hope everyone had a nice time

with your friends and family for the most recent

Jewish holidays.

With this year's reflection, I wanted to say how

much I appreciate Alpha Omega. We are more

than a continuing education organization. We are

a community of like-minded individuals. We treat

each other like family and make the dental world

just a little bit smaller.

Our new members help to reinforce this and I

look forward to our continued growth over the

next year. See everyone at the opening meeting!

In AO since: 2011

What AO means to me: I joined in Dental school to meet great group of people who share a common

set of values and interests. As my life has changed personally and professionally, the bonds of friend-

ship and comradery have only deepend. Despite moving to the Eastern Shore, AO is important for me

to continue to be a part of.

Areas of special interest in dentistry: I like it all, although dental surgery including wisdom teeth

and implants are lots of fun. In my new practice I try to provide top quality comprehensive care to eve-

ryone on the shore.

Favorite vacation: Warm weather Bora Bora (hard to top) and cold weather hands down Vail CO.

Area of interest outside of dentistry or something people would like to know about me: Recently

bought a practice in Easton and moved my family over there. My 19 mo old twin girls and my wife are

my everything. But when I’m not in scrubs or changing diapers, I’m usually dressed in camo. I’m an

avid outdoorsman, dentist by day but a Jewish redneck at heart.
