• Mucho and poco may modify a noun or a verb. When the former is the case, mucho and poco act as adjective and must agree in number and gender with what is being modiffied.
• When mucho and poco modify a verb, they are adverbs and do not vary in form.
• Muy is never used to modify mucho. Use the word muchísimo.

If there is a common noun right after mucho (poco), then it is modifying it. Is it uncountable or countable?
