Cut the mozzarella into slices
Cut the tomatoes into slices
Put them alternately in the dish

The caprese salad is a delicious main course easy to prepare.
As the name suggests, it is from the island of Capri. It is said that, after World War II, a patriotic mason usually prepared a sandwich with mozzarella, basil and tomatoes and tasted it in the work break. The recipe appeared in 1920 in the menu of the luxury Hotel Quisisana in Capri. It is said that, in the 50s, the Egyptian King Farouk was served a sandwich with mozzarella, basil and tomatoes.
