No other trade show provides this level of interaction and detail about their attendees. “AIIM’s ECM Seminar may be small but it packs a punch. I have seen more impact from these focused events than most of the mammoth tradeshows I’ve attended. The venue is working well for our CoSign ® digital signature solution, not only has it provided better access to potential customers and partners, but the events themselves are extremely well organized. My many thanks to AIIM’s staff for formulating and offering this excellent seminar series.” John Marchioni, Vice President, ARX, Inc. “I’m so glad that we exhibited at the AIIM seminars this spring. I thought they were great for Vignette. Thanks to you all for taking such good care of us.” Dede De Leon, Field Marketing - Imaging & Workflow Solutions, Vignette/Open Text “The AIIM Seminars have been a terrific marketing spend for KnowledgeLake. My sales reps are reporting high quality attendance that generates hot leads and plenty of them. In some of our regions they are reporting it’s the best event they’ve seen in their territory in years! From my experience at the Los Angeles event, AIIM not only provides a great forum for the sponsors but the ECM education they deliver is focused and incredibly valuable to both attendees and partners.” Kevin Ells, Marketing Manager, KnowledgeLake, Inc. “Organizations seeking to invest in ECM technologies to solve business problems are starved for education. AIIM seminars provide us with great opportunities to get up close and personal with local attendees and explain how we can help them operate more efficiently and effectively.” Ken Burns, Manager for Industry Communications, Hyland Software Contact your AIIM marketing representative to secure your space. Education Program

8 Factors to Consider inCreating an InformationManagement Strategy:How Organizations CanImprove Efficiency, IncreaseProductivity, and Reduce Risk

For many years, organizations havesurvived by “winging it” when itcomes to information management.

- “Yes, we need a strategy formanaging the financial assets of theorganization, so we’ll invest in anaccounting system.”- “Yes, we need a strategy formanaging the physical assets andtheir associated data, so we’ll put inplace an ERR system.”- “Yes, our human assets areimportant, so we’ll spend money onan HR system.”

But a strategy for managinginformation? Treat our informationassets with the same rigor anddiscipline as we do our money, inventories, and people? OK, maybewe’ll automate a specific process. But in terms of getting our armsaround the legendary “80% of theinformation in our organization thatis unstructured,” we’ll get to thatsometime, someday, thank you verymuch.

The sheer quantity of informationthat is descending upon ourorganizations is rapidly creating a setof circumstances in which we willno longer be able to just “wing it.”SharePoint deployments aresweeping through manyorganizations, often with littleplanning or structure. The strategicimperative to manage informationeffectively will soon becomeirreversible — with devastatingconsequences for those whoassume it is otherwise. Educational session times will be assigned on a first-come / first-served basis.

Attendees have expressed that real-world case studies with success stories and lessons learned are the most valuable, educationalformat. To preserve the educational value of AIIM’s seminars, sponsors should prepare their presentations in a case study format. AIIM reserves the right to reject presentations that do not follow the case study theme.

New for 2010! Contribute to the “8 Factors to Consider in Creating an Information ManagementStrategy” eBook.Seminar sponsors are invited to author an article around one or all of the “8 Factors.” Your articlewill be published on John Mancini’s blog “Digital Landfill” and included in the eBook provided toseminar attendees.
