Capture Jordan, photography tour Jordan – 8 day tour with possible 4 days extension.

English-speaking professional photographer, Amer Sweidan, will be your tour guide. Experience a different perception of Jordan through the lens of your camera. The group is kept small, so there is enough opportunity for personal attention and advice: Minimal 4, maximal 8 participants.

The program: The tour has a duration of 8 days, during which we show you all the special places and highlights of Jordan. There will be enough time for photo stops, explanations and site visiting. Extending the program with a 4 day tour in the North of Jordan is possible. Images will be reviewed every day. During the whole trip we will consider every stop a photo stop!

Biography Amer Sweidan I am Amer Sweidan, a street, documentary, landscape and fine art photographer from Jordan.

My projects revolve around people by creating photographs depicting aspects of the human experience and emotion in all of its colors - colors that are often forgotten.

Observing human nature has always been an interest of mine, and photography helps expand this interest by revealing insights into the human character.

I also do landscape photography, architectural photography and minimal photography. Sharp lines and soft curves - and the juxtaposition of both elements - attract my attention. I especially like to capture the feeling of

texture through my lens. The “Without Barriers” photography exhibition (2010), which took place in Jordan, was where I first displayed my photography work. At the exhibition, I also won the Best Picture Award. My photography work was displayed at other exhibitions around the world, including Jordan, Austria and the

United States. My work was published in several local and international magazines and online publications. Cheers, Amer

Day 1: Airport – Madaba Arrival at the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. Here our airport representative will wait you to assist you with the visa, luggage and customs. From here you'll drive to the 3* Mariam hotel for the overnight stay in Madaba, breakfast included. Madaba is a small town with a cozy city cen-tre which offers nice city walks.

Day 2: Madaba – Dana In the morning Amer Sweidan, your photographer, will explain the tour through Jordan and intro-duce you to your fellow travelers. This will be followed by a visit to the St. George Church in Mad-aba, with its famous mosaic map of the Promised Land. After you drive via the King's Highway to Karak to visit the Crusaders Castle. Continue to Dana Nature Reserve for dinner an overnight stay in Dana Tower Hotel, breakfast included. During the drive towards the South you'll have plenty of time for photography.

Day 3: Dana – Petra After breakfast you can visit the old village of Dana Nature Reserve and surroundings. Optional you can make a hike in the Dana Nature Reserve with a local guide. Lunch boxes are included. In the afternoon we'll depart for Petra and finish the day with a photo stop in beautiful Little Petra. The overnight stay will be in Petra in 3* Petra Palace hotel, breakfast included. This hotel has free WIFI access in the lobby and lounge, a swimming pool and is located on walking distance of Petra, the restaurants and the souvenir shops.

Day 4: Petra Today you'll have a full day to explore the many monuments in the UNESCO and World Heritage Site Petra. Included is a 2-3 hours guided city tour, to get a good first impression of Petra. After this tour you have the rest of the day to explore Petra by yourself together with the photographer Amer Sweidan. After your visit to the Siq, Treasury, Street of Facades, Theatre and Colonnaded Street you have the possibility to hike your way to the Monastery and/or the High Place of Sacri-fice. It is a lot of climbing, but worth the views! Lunch suggestion inside Petra: Basin Restaurant. However, we can also organize lunch boxes for you, so you can enjoy your lunch when and where you want and enjoy the special places in Petra even more. Overnight stay in the 3* Petra Palace hotel, breakfast included.

Day 5: Petra – Wadi Rum This morning you have time to visit Petra on your own or with guidance from Amer Sweidan. After lunch (around 14.00/ 2 pm) we drive to Wadi Rum. Feel like T.E. Lawrence in the breathtaking scenery of Wadi Rum. You will have the afternoon free to ex-plore the area around of the campsite together with the Jordanian photographer. You could also choose to enjoy a short camel ride upon arrival to Wadi Rum. Enjoy dinner under the stars and spend the night in the Authentic Bedouin Campsite, located 12 km inside the protected area of Wadi Rum, dinner and breakfast included. Tonight you could enjoy a photography workshop about how to capture the stars the best on your lens.

Day 6: Wadi Rum – Dead Sea Today you will explore Wadi Rum desert by a 3.5 hours jeep tour. The jeep will stop at each site to give you time to explore the site, scramble around and make beautiful pictures! In the afternoon you transfer to the lowest point on earth’s surface; the Dead Sea. We drive via Dilagha, a beautiful 'hidden' road that crosses Wadi Araba Desert, one of the unique places that we love to introduce to you. At the Dead Sea we have an overnight stay in the 4* Holiday Inn Dead Sea Resort, breakfast included.

Day 7: Dead Sea – Wadi Mujib – Madaba Free morning at the Dead Sea. On this day we'll have a workshop and practice with HDR (High Dy-namic Range) photography. At 14.00/ 2 pm drive to Wadi Mujib where you will hike the fun water Siq Trail. This hike takes 2-3 hours together with a private RSCN guide and you will learn how to make the most beautiful pictures while being on the move! Note: make sure to bring a water/dust proof case to protect your camera during the tour!! Transfer to Madaba for dinner at Haret Jdoudna Restaurant (set menu – Mukawir). Overnight stay in the 3* Mariam Hotel, breakfast included.

Day 8: Madaba – Queen Alia Airport Amman Transfer to airport for departure.

Day 8: Madaba – Pella — Um Qais – Madaba From Madaba you drive through the Jordan Valley in the direction of Pella. Here are excavated ruins from the Greece-Roman period, remains of a catholic settlement from the 4th millennium BC, remains of the Bronze and Iron Ages and an early Islamic small medieval mosque. Continue driving to Um Qais, located on top of a hill overlooking the Jordan Valley, Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Back to Madaba for overnight, including breakfast.

Day 9: Madaba – Ajlun – Jerash Today we drive along towards the Ajlun Nature reserve, where you'll find the Ajlun Castle. The castle is one of the best preserved and most complete examples of medieval Arab-Islamic military architecture. From the top of Ajlun Castle you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. From here we continue to Jerash, one of the world's best preserved Roman provincial city. Over-night stay in the Olive Branch hotel in Jerash, breakfast included.

Day 10: Jerash – Desert Castle – Amman From Jerash we head towards the Desert Castles in the East. Visit Qasr Al Hallabat followed by Qasr Azraq. Have lunch at the Azraq Ecologe and after continue to visit Qasr Amra and Qasr Kharanah. Overnight stay in 3* Larsa hotel, breakfast included.

Day 11: Amman Today we start with a city tour of Amman. Take the opportunity to capture all the movements of the capital city of Jordan. Visit the Citadel, National Archaeological Museum, Roman Theatre, Folklore Museum, King Abdullah Mosque, souks or, if time permits also a visit to the modern city of Amman. Overnight stay in 3* Larsa Hotel, breakfast included. Day 12 – Amman – Queen Alia International Airport Transfer to airport for departure.
