Three Program Options

1. Cooperative Innovative High School Programs (CIHSP) are located on college campuses and provide opportunities for students to complete an associate degree program or earn up to two years of college credit within five years.

ABSS Early and Middle College High Schools at ACC

2. Career and Technical Education Pathways (CTE) lead to a certificate or diploma aligned with a high school career cluster.

3. College Transfer Pathway (CTP) includes at least 30 semester hours of transfer courses including English and mathematics.

Consists of students in the Alamance-Burlington Early/Middle College

Housed on ACC’s main campus

No restrictions on the types of courses that can be taken

Weighted GPA of 3.0 or the recommendation

of principal/principal’s designee

Must meet the testing requirements of any

courses taken in the pathway

ABSS program: provides transportation, books, chrome books for student use

Graham High School – two courses per semester during 3rd

block

CTEC – two courses per semester during 3rd block

Self-contained classes

BCA, Clover Garden – courses on their campus

Enroll in courses on our campus

Tuition-free but students must pay for or rent books

Flexible schedule can be created.

Students are in regularly scheduled college classes on an ACC schedule.

Scheduling Classes at ACC

Students may take classes at ACC in the morning

and then go to their high school for 2nd, 3rd and 4th

blocks.

Students may have 1st, 2nd and 3rd blocks at high

school and come to ACC for an afternoon class.

Night classes typically meet once per week from

6:00-9:00 p.m.

Online classes – student must be self-directed &

motivated.

Textbook Assistance

Financial assistance for textbooks required for courses taught on ACC’s campus is available for those who qualify.

Submit CCP application

Complete the FAFSA on www.fafsa.gov

Workshops offered through Financial Aid Office

Submit the scholarship application (on the Financial Aid Office website) between May 21-June 4

Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and high school GPA.

High School Course Equivalents

MAT 143, 152 or 171 can serve as a student’s

fourth high school math credit.

HIS 131, 132 American History I, II will fulfill the

high school American History requirement. PSY

150 or SOC 210 can serve as the 4th social studies

requirement for students who completed AP US

History.

High School Course Equivalents

The combination of ENG 111, 112, 231 or 232 can be taken in place of ENGLISH 3 in high school. The combination of ENG 111, 112, 241 or 242 can be taken in place of ENGLISH 4 in high school.

High school must approve of students taking core classes at ACC.

A score of 3 on the AP English exam = ENG 111 and a score of 4 on the AP English exam = ENG 111 and ENG 112. A score of 3 on the AP American History exam = HIS 131 and HIS 132.

Additional Facts

Classes on ACC’s campus start on August 21 – BEFORE ABSS.

ABSS classes taught on our campus (MAC, EDU) follow the ABSS schedule.

Students may enroll in both a CT Pathway and a CTE pathway if they meet the entrance requirements or two different CTE Pathways.

To remain in a pathway, students must earn grades of C or better in their college classes.

After completing any pathway, students may choose additional courses in that program.

Additional Facts

All courses are college courses and must be submitted when a student applies for admission to a university.

High school students applying for admission to universities immediately after high school graduation must determine whether or not they have the option to apply as freshmen/transfer and talk with admissions about which is best.

Credit is awarded at universities for transfer courses with grades of C or better.

Courses at ACC

Registration opens on April 11th for new CCP

students. All paperwork must be complete

before registration.

Students must meet with an advisor in order

to register for classes.

Enrollment is subject to course availability.

Registration continues throughout the summer.

CCP Orientation is August 15.
