1. Working in a Design Studio

What are two advantages of working in a design studio? Working with experienced designers to help you and guide you Pretty cool studio atmosphere

What can be really stressful about it? Dealing with deadlines can be really stressful

What piece of advice is given to future graphic designers who are eager to work in a studio?

The advice that is given to never give up, have prepared an adaptable portfolio, meet many designers and be active online

2. Freelancing What is a freelancer ?

A person who is self-employed and is not committed to a particular employer on a long-term basis.

Becoming a freelance graphic designer is easy but maintaining that career is very hard. What are some possible problems freelancers may encounter?Problems:

Finding new clients and keeping existing ones Face late payments, accounting work and taxes alone

What piece of advice is given to future graphic designers who are eager to work as freelancers?

The advice that is given to future graphic designers who are eager to work as freelancers is to build-up their portfolio with real-life work and build up a little client base.

3. In-House Graphic Designer

Large corporations, like Apple for example, prefer to hire graphic designers who will be fully dedicated to their company. Those are called In-House Graphic Designers.

Name two advantages of employing an in-house design team :

It lowers the cost Keeping the same designers to ensure a continuity in the visuals Name two advantages of working as an in-house graphic

4. Teaching

Teaching in a Design School could turn out to be a quite fulfilling experience. You are given the chance to teach a younger generation of graphic designers who might be more free and willing to learn!

An advantage of teaching is: that you will learn more for students’ questions

A disadvantage of teaching is: that it’s not a full time job

5. Pre-Press Technician

This involves doing technical work. What could be negative about it?Preparing documents for printing could be negative since most designers despise it

6. Web-Multimedia Designer

These designers basically abandon paper and resort to web and multimedia design.

Name two advantages of working as a Web-Multimedia designer: Keep on getting work from creating websites, animation, etc. On-going rise of screen as a support of communication
