Careers in Photography
Photography can be more than a hobby, many people make it a
career.
Let’s look at some examples…
Objective:To provide you with the opportunity to study a particular photographic career that you find interesting and encourage you to create your own style based on that career.
In Your Sketchbook: Review the list of Careers in
Photography and list 3 that you find most interesting.
Research those 3 careers in greater depth: Describe the career in 3-5
sentences Print 2 images that show an
example from each career listed
In Your Sketchbook: Choose a final career that you would
like to attempt working in Find and save a MINIMUM of 5
additional photographs done for that career… print the images and put them into
your sketchbook AND put them in the drop box too!!!
In Your Sketchbook: Generate a list of characteristics,
aspects, techniques and subject matter used in the career you chose. Your list should include at least 5
things. Plan your own photography…
Things to consider are: style, lighting, location, subject matter, themes and concepts.
You should include at least 5 specific ideas.
Include as many details as possible.
Take & Edit Photos: Shoot a series of new pictures (40
image minimum) that represent your chosen career.
Compile and edit 5 of your own images and put them in the drop box along with the 5 images you saved.
REMEMBER: I should see influence from the professional images reflected in your own images!!!
