What was your first impression of the commercial real estate world?
It seemed fast-paced and exciting yet had stability to it that I felt was incredibly important in a job - especially
considering the recent economic downturn.
What has surprised you the most about the commercial real estate industry and BOMA?
The real estate and BOMA member communities are extraordinarily close-knit and it was surprising how quickly
strangers became familiar faces.
What do you find the most challenging about the commercial real estate industry/BOMA?
The area of industry that I am currently in, property management, is challenging because it never stops –
there’s so much energy! This is also the best part of my job. I enjoy learning new skills everyday but this is a
daily challenge that I enjoy.

What do you wish other people knew about the commercial real estate industry/BOMA?
I wish more young people realized how supportive and stable the commercial real estate/BOMA community is
in the Bay Area. I think the industry is often overlooked as a career for those just starting out in the job force,
which is unfortunate. I love my job!
What might we be surprised to know about you?
People may be surprised to know that after my day job I am a full-time babysitter and that during my lunch one
day a week I volunteer at the Tenderloin Community School.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about a career in the industry?
I would definitely recommend a career in commercial real estate and I would advise the person to find someone
in the industry that can serve as a mentor.
What advice would you give someone new to the industry?
Work hard, keep a positive attitude, and keep yourself involved in the BOMA community.
