As an educational charity we are actively engaged in research and publication, and helping the wider community to discover and enjoy the past.

We are partners in Oxford University Department of Continuing Education’s Historic Environment training programme, and we have a well regarded fieldwork training scheme for graduates.

We have an excellent reputation for high quality analysis and prompt reporting of our excavations. Our specialists provide expertise in finds, environmental archaeology and human remains, and we have our own in-house teams of illustrators and editors who manage our extensive publication output.

We offer a wide range of heritage planning and conservation services, and have a highly respected team of specialists in historic buildings.
