1. Click on the Start Window and type in Sketch Up in the search window.

2. Open Sketch-up. 3. Go to View > Toolbars Check everything so you have more tool options available.

4. The image below shows my example of the cornhole board you are going to create.

Starting out5. View Click on Top View

Use the pan tool to move the screen over to the solid green and red

lines. 6. Right side View Click 7. Create a temporary Guide

a. Draw a line one Foot tall using the pencil tool. Click to start a line, drag it up then before you click to set the height type 1’ and click enter.

b. Draw a four foot line at the bottom of the one foot vertical guide line. Use the Pencil tool. Click to start the line, type 4’, click enter.

c. Draw a four inch vertical line at the end of the four foot line.

Use the pencil tool. Click on the start of the line, type 4”, click enter.

8. Group the guide lines together. Select them all and right click choose Group.

Or click on Edit “Make Group”.9. Draw the top of the board. Use the Pencil tool to draw a line

across the top of the temporary guide. 10. Delete the temporary guide. Select it by using the arrow tool

to click on it. Click Delete.

11. Add the sides of the top. Use the Pencil tool to draw a line 1.5” tall on the right and left side of the diagonal line. To do this use the pencil tool and click on the end of the line on the top left. Slide the mouse up. Type 1.5” Click Enter. Repeat on the right side.

12. Add the top. Use the pencil tool to draw one line across the top.

13. Extrude the top two feet out. Click on the side with the arrow tool

to select it. Orbit around so you can see the board at an angle.

14. Top View. Click on the roof top view. 15. Off set the top by 1.5 inches. First use the arrow tool and

double click on the top of the box. Then, choose the off set tool. Click

on the outside edge and type 1.5” and click enter. This creates a box that is 1.5 inches smaller than the outside box.

17. Make the side boards. Use the pencil tool to draw a line going down from the top board. Type 3.5”. Click Enter Repeat on the right side.

Draw a line across the bottom to close off the side shape.

18. Extrude the side going under the top 1.5” across. Orbit to a

corner view.

19. Double Click on the side board. Extrude it 1.5” wide

20. Repeat on the other side.21. Repeat on the back. And make a board for the

22. Top View 23. Draw a rectangle and type 1.5” , 3.5” to

set the size of your rectangle, click enter.

24. Extrude the leg taller than the cornhole board top. Orbit around to the side. Use the push pull tool to extrude the rectangle leg

up. 25. Group the leg. Click on the leg 3 times to select the whole thing

using the arrow tool. Right click to select “Make Group”

Move the leg so it fits in the corner at the top.

Do this from the top view. Click 3 times on the leg using the arrow tool move

it using the move tool . 26. Select Everything by dragging the arrow tool over the whole

cornhole board. 27. Intersect Faces. Right click and choose “Intersect Faces” “With

Model”. 28. Explode the leg. Make sure the whole project is still selected. Right

click and choose Explode. This separates each shape so you can delete the excess leg sticking up.

29. Delete the excess leg on the top. Use the eraser tool

and zoom in to delete the excess parts of the leg.

30. Right side view Use the pencil tool to draw a line to indicate where the ground is.

31. Shorten the leg so it stops at the ground using the push pull tool

. You need to view the underneath part of the board.

Make it even with the ground line.

32. Repeat steps 23-31 to make the second leg.

Tip: to see the ground level to shorten the leg click on left side view.

Draw a line across the leg. View it from underneath by orbiting under the board. Push Pull it to the ground level line.

33. Make the hole Click on the top view . Choose the Pencil Tool .

Draw a 6” line at the top in the middle. You will see a blue dot on the top line to indicate where the middle is. Click with the pencil tool in the middle and type 6”,

click enter.

34. Make a circle with 3” radius. Click on top view . Choose

the circle tool.

Start the circle at the end of the 6” line. Click and drag then type 3” and click

enter. 35. Delete the 6” line and the Off Set smaller rectangle with the eraser tool. 36. Save your project as your Name Cornhole Board and Date

Example: Cari Werz Maconochie Cornhole Board 9.16.16So each time you have a new file you save each one as a new date, this way you have the old documents in case something happens to one of them.

37. Then, save your file to your Google Drive and place it in your Art Folder 2016-2017. Make sure you share your art folder with me at [email protected].
