DESCRIPTION

We at Global Expert Systems, the hosts of the Caribbean Work Life Balance Trade Show 2013, support volunteerism. Here are a few small acts that we can think of. 1. Offer to help a senior citizen in your neighborhood who is less able. 2. Mentor a young child preparing for exams. 3. Practice random acts of kindness: a. Offer someone a ride b. Help keep the neighborhood tidy c. Prepare a meal d. Donate all the “things” and “clothes” you no longer use e. Give away the extra fruits from your fruit tree Remember there’s always someone less fortunate that you are.

The Clean Up Barbados is an annual event that is organized and implemented by the Future Centre Trust. Beginning in 2009, the event is linked to the Clean Up The World event. The initiative seeks to bring attention to the open spaces, beaches, gullies and roads of the island, to encourage public awareness to the reduction of littering and dumping that occurs in Barbados. Groups and individuals are invited to clean an area in need of attention. Source: http://www.bhta.org/index/environment/bhta-environmental-activities.html

The week after Hurricane Ivan pounded Grenada, the Living WaterCommunity sent its first team to the island to take emergency food, water clothing and construction materials, and to assess the damage. In those first days when the island was slowly shaking itself, it was tough going for the team to get around the island and the people who were only just realizing the extent of the destruction. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 3"But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,…
