CSF volunteer Duncan MacInnes is tonight’s Community Hero

keep an eye out for csf volunteer and passionate norwich city season-ticket holder duncan macinnes at tonight’s game.

Duncan, 61, will bring out the matchball prior to kick-off as City’s ‘Community Hero’.

Duncan heads up Community Sports Foundation’s Caring in the Community programme, a free service for patients at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.

He makes regular visits throughout the season to the hospital to meet poorly patients and in June 2013, he reached an impressive milestone when he visited 15-year-old Ellie Loades – his 3,000th patient.

Duncan shows short highlights of recent Norwich City matches and provides fascinating anecdotes and stories from the club to patients and their relatives in wards and clinics.

He comes equipped with matchday programmes, posters and Caring in the Community stickers – plus, from time to time, signed City goodies.

Caring in the Community was founded in 2003 as Canaries for the Community but was relaunched under its new name this year, thanks to funding from CSF’s Sporting Light Appeal.

Young campers enjoy Fit4it Junior Campit was a week of adventure activities, fun workshops and new friendships for participants on csf’s fit4it Junior camp.

Over a hundred children joined us over February half-term for the free camp.

Run in conjunction with Public Health, the Junior camp is aimed at seven to 12-year-olds who may be struggling to control or maintain their weight and included health workshops and a variety of sport sessions.

The highlight of the week was a two-day stay at the scenic thirty-acre Kingswood West Runton activity centre, which overlooks the North Norfolk coast, where campers enjoyed activities including zip wires, abseiling and aeroball.

“The campers who left us at the end of the week were full of confidence. It was great to

see so many new friendships forged,” said Tessa Beecroft, CSF Health Development Officer.

“We hope they’ve learned lots of useful information about the importance of being active.”

The participants will meet again for a series of follow-up sessions, before their Celebration Evening event at Carrow Road in May to mark their successes on the course.
