• The last of a series of chairs Wegner designed based on inspiration from antique Chinese armchairs.

• The gently rounded top – together with the back and seat – offers a variety of comfortable seating positions: ideal for both long visits to the dining table and relaxed lounging. • A light chair, easy to move around the dining table and about the room.

• The characteristic “Y” provides comfortable back support and stability to the steam-bent top, also inspiring the chair’s names, “The Wishbone Chair”or “The Y-Chair”.

• An excellent example of Wegner’s constant striving towards organic simplicity to create sculptural beauty, comfort and outstanding stability.

• Produced in Danish hardwoods (oak, beech, ash, maple) as well as American walnut and cherry. Available in standard finishes and colours, with either natural or black paper cord.

• Seat woven with 120 m of paper cord that lasts up to 50 years before replacement.

r” • Designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1963, when it was presented at a Danish furniture exhibition. While some critics loved the avant- garde design, the general public was slow to accept the chair’s bold lines and initial sales were poor.

• Produced only in very limited quantities during the 1960s, Wegner’s “Three-legged Shell Chair” began to fetch handsome prices at international auctions in the 1980s and 1990s.

• When Carl Hansen & Son re-introduced the chair in 1998, it immediately won several design awards and broad public appeal. • Sometimes called “The Smiling Chair”, the three-legged construction provides outstanding stability. The chair achieves a floating lightness due to its wing-like lines, its tapered legs, and the arching curves of its laminated legs.

• Generously comfortable, with upholstered seat and back where the chair contacts the body.

• Seat and back made from the highest quality form-pressed veneers. The front legs are made of one continuous piece of laminated wood, the back leg from another. Available in oak, ash, beech or walnut standard finishes and colours; upholstered in the customer’s choice of leather or fabric.

• While its triangular footprint makes it suitable for corner settings, the chair is frequently placed where it can be viewed from all sides, on its own or in groups. A pleasing complement to Wegner’s round coffee table, CH_008.

• Designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1960, but only produced in very limited numbers until Carl Hansen & Son relaunched the chair in 1996 based on Wegner’s original 1:1 drawings. CH_445 immediately received both design awards and international acclaim.

• An exceptionally comfortable chair that provides excellent support for the back, shoulders, neck and head. Its generous lines enable a variety of sitting positions.

• Built upon a solid beech frame, just as Wegner specified, and upholstered in high-quality foam that provides just the right balance between firmness and softness.

• “The Wingchair” employs hand-finished stainless steel legs that are virtually maintenance free.

• CH_445 works equally well in groups and on its own, and is best placed where its elegant design can be viewed from all sides.

• CH_445 is available in the customer’s choice of exclusive fabrics and leathers. Shown here in Paul Smith’s classic yet playful “Stripes”.

CH_44 • Designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1965 especially for Carl Hansen & Son.

• An all-natural chair made from solid wood and paper cord.

• A very comfortable easy chair that is substantial enough to stand on its own – and light enough to move easily across the room.

• CH_44 is part of a series of chairs that also included several smaller dining chairs and a footrest, CH_53.

• Typically Wegner: note the visible joint between the front leg and arm rest; how the back of the armrest widens to provide strength to the joint that connects it to the back and how this joint locates naturally between two back slats.

• Specially made seat and back cushions (optional) are available in the customer’s choice of fabric or leather. The back cushion is made to hang from the tops of the specially grooved back rests.

• Available in solid ash, beech or oak in a variety of finishes with either natural or black paper cord.

• Casually classic, the chair derives a sense of lightness from its tapered legs and the dynamic angle of its back legs.

• The seat is suspended from the front legs in a construction that is both beautiful and practical, allowing the paper cord weave to continue uninterrupted around the seat.

• Paper cord on the seat and on both sides of the back. Approximately 300 m of cord are used in a unique weave that hides knots. It takes a skilled weaver between 8 and12 hours to complete.

• A supremely comfortable easy chair that is equally at home beside a coffee table or standing on its own.

CH_101 • Designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1970 as part of a larger series in steel that includes an easy chair and dining chairs, as well as a desk and a table.

• Produced in very limited numbers during the 1970s and reintroduced in 2008 on the occasion of Carl Hansen & Son’s 100th anniversary.

• The characteristic design employs hand-polished, stainless steel for the legs, visible frame, and arm rest fronts.

• Hand-made on a solid beech inner frame to enable use of the finest upholstery methods, finished in stainless steel for durability and lasting beauty.

• Exceptional comfort due to its generous lines and sumptuous upholstery.

• Cushions are fully upholstered on all sides, and built around a foam core wrapped in a mix of European down and foam granulate.

• The characteristic stainless steel arms, joining legs and table tops, provide an exceptionally light and stable construction – unusual for a solid wood table top.

• The table top is made from uninterrupted sections of solid wood running the entire length of the table. This solution, compared to full-width sections, reveals more of the wood’s structure, results in a more harmonious surface, and is considerably more difficult to produce.

• Table tops are available in 100% solid ash, beech, oak or walnut; width = 95 cm; length = 190 cm (seats 6) or 240 cm (seats 8).

• Extension leaves in MDF, black or grey, are available. 95 x 40 cm.
