I shared this during Children’s Time and felt it was worth posting in here.
CHANGE can be….
C-Chaotic, confusing & concerning
H-Heart pounding & horrifying
A-Anxious & annoyed
N-Nervous
G-Guilty because you liked how things were
E- Enormously different
We all react differently to change and that is ok. When we think of change,
I would like all of us to try and remember the verse above from Philippians
4:6-8. It is something we can ask God to help us with if change is difficult
for us. Change can be all the things below with God is our anchor, provider,
and comforter.
C-Cheerful, Calm, & Courageous
H-Happy
A-Adapt, accommodate, & accept-things can be even better then they were
N-New & nice
G-Game changer & great!
E-Eager, energetic, excited & enthusiastic!
My prayer for all of us is that we will have the second set of emotions and
thoughts moving forward when it comes to changes in your life. Always
remember that God loves each of you and that will never change. God is
the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Remember even when life
changes…GOD IS GOOD!
Be the Change is the exact saying that brought me here to start the journey
and it is what I will end this article with...Be the Change!

us. Thank you to everyone who
contributed to his real money tree. He was
extremely thankful for everyone’s
generosity and love during his time here.

Roar VBS weekend was a HUGE success!
We had 21 kids who participated!
We learned

our VBS Sunday Celebration Service.
They did a fantastic job!

Rev. Neal Kentch was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He is a graduate of Phillips University and the Divinity
School of the University of Chicago. He was ordained by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 1982. Since then, he
has served Disciples and UCC congregations all over the country, from Texas to
Minnesota, from Pennsylvania to California. Most recently, he served Cen-
tennial Christian Church of Bloomington until his retirement at the first of this
year.
He and his wife, Mary, a retired seminary professor, have been married for 36
years. They live in Bloomington.
Neal enjoys playing golf, or at least something that looks a little like golf. He
also enjoys riding his bicycle, going for his daily walk around the
neighborhood, and playing softball. He enjoys keeping up with his favorite
baseball team, the San Francisco Giants.

Greetings Carlock Christian Church! My name is Clayton Summers and I am excited for the opportunity to serve as your Youth Pastor. As I have been learning about you from your website and your search committee, here is some information about me!
I grew up in the Disciples of Christ Church in Mt. Carmel, Illinois where my parents were co-pastors for 21 years. During this time I attended church camp at Camp Walter Scott from Kindergarten through 12th grade. While I was in high school, I was privileged to serve on the Regional Youth Council for Illinois and Wisconsin Region, helping plan regional youth events. I went to college at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where I received my B.S. in aerospace engineering and currently work part-time as a software engineer. I am also currently pursing my Master of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary where I take mostly online classes with intensive courses on campus once or twice a year. Once I complete my coursework (in 2-3 years) I hope to be ordained as a Disciples Minister.
I have previously served as Moderator for the National Young Adult Commission for our denomination, served as Presi-dent of the non-profit Rekindle Foundation which raises funds for capital improvements at Camp Walter Scott, served on the region's outdoor ministry committee, volunteered as a group leader for the regional youth Summit event, counseled multiple weeks of high school church camp, and served as the student pastor at the Christian Church of Arlington Heights. In my personal life my beautiful wife, Alix, and I were married on June 22 this year. We currently live in Flanagan, Illinois where she is a Special Education Teacher.
I am excited to meet all of you and be able to help nurture and grow the faith of the church's children and youth. May God Bless us and our journey of faith together.
