ObjectiveSeeking challenging NMR Spectroscopist position to support projects in academic, industrial, or governmental laboratories.

Qualifications Ph.D. in Chemistry with various years of industrial experience and 13 years of academic

experience at Princeton University and at University of Connecticut, as NMR Manager of their respective Chemistry Departments.

Experienced in molecular structure interpretation using 1D and 2D NMR. Broad knowledge of Agilent and Bruker NMR’s advanced instrumentation and accessories. Highly motivated and passionate about NMR. Fast and strong learner of other needed analytical tools useful for the progress of research

projects. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to multitask. Ability to work independently and in teams.

Work Information

- Director of the NMR Facility at the Department of Chemistry,University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT 05/2012 – 06/2013

- Sr. NMR/EPR Lab Manager at the Department of Chemistry,Princeton University, Princeton, NJ 01/2000-11/2011 Supervised and maintained (software and hardware) seven NMR spectrometers:

o Four Agilent spectrometer s: one MercuryVx-300, and three Inova’s 400/500/600-MHz;o Three Bruker spectrometers: Avance-III 500-MHz, all equipped with cryoprobes (TCI,

DCH, and QNP), ATM, and sample changer BACS-120. Supervised and maintained one Linux server, and a computer cluster for off-line data processing

(using Mestrelab’s MNova, Modgraph’s NMRPredict, ACDLabs, Bio-Rad’s KnowItAll). Coordinated and performed NMR trainings to new users. Supported users on optimization of advanced experiments: 2D NMR, selective experiments,

diffusion NMR, and heteronuclear NMR. Implemented new NMR experiments and/or adapt existing experiments. Acquired new hardware and software.

- PETROBRAS R&D Center/ Department of Chemistry, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Petroleum Chemist/Spectroscopic Lab Manager 12/1985-01/2000

- Military Institute of Engineering (IME)/Department of Chemistry,Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Lecturer: “Organic Processes in Chemical Engineering” 01/1985-12/1985
