Carmel area: At 0425 hours, deputies responded to anaddress in Carmel Valley due to a 911 hang-up. Deputies madecontact with a distraught 9-year-old boy outside of the residence.The juvenile was upset over a physical fight that had justoccurred between his mother and her boyfriend. After separatingand interviewing both parties as well as the juvenile, the 49-year-old mother and her 55-year-old boyfriend were arrested fordomestic battery, child endangerment, being in possession ofdrug paraphernalia and violating the terms of probation. The
juvenile was released into the custody of his father.

report to document that her brother is notallowed in her residence or on the property. Shebelieves her brother may have a key to the res-idence and wants close patrol of the residencein case he decides to return.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Person reported thatan occupant in a hotel room kicked a hotel-room dividing door in. Upon CPD arrival, itwas determined the suspect was suffering froma medical condition due to diabetes. The hoteldid not wish to pursue vandalism charges butstated the suspect would be financially respon-sible for the damage.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Fire engine dis-patched to Monte Verde and Santa Lucia.Arrived on scene to find a tree branch whichhad fallen onto primary wires and was sus-pended in the air next to a utility pole. Thewires were arcing and had ignited the branchbefore the wires melted and fell to the ground.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Fire engine dis-patched to Dolores and Third. Arrived on sceneto find a broken water pipe near the street,leaking about 10 gallons per minute into astorm drain and east of the leak into the creek.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Ambulance and fireengine dispatched to a Sixth Avenue residencefor a female with abdominal pain. Patient trans-ported Code 2 to CHOMP.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: A 31-year-old male
who lacerated his right index finger on a meatslicer came to the fire station for medical care.Controlled bleeding with gauze and tape.Advised patient to see doctor for stitches andfurther evaluation. He declined further care ortransport and signed a medical release.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Ambulance and fireengine dispatched to Junipero Street for afemale who had fallen and suffered right anklepain and deformity. Patient transported Code 2to CHOMP.
Pacific Grove: A law clerk came into thestation to turn in two handguns for a domesticviolence case compliance. Weapons were prop-erly logged and stored. Law clerk was provideda receipt for his records.
Pacific Grove: Dispatched to a dog at largein the area of Locust and Laurel. On arrival,located the caller, who stated the Catahoula dogran at her car to try to get her dog inside of thecar. She did not want prosecution but did notwant the dog to get hit by a car. After trying tocatch the dog without success, the officer con-tacted the owner at the residence to have herretrieve the dog. She said she did not know thedog was out and called it back home. Locatedthe dog’s collar and found it was broken. Shewas informed of her liability and responsibility.She stated the dog is her daughter’s ex-boyfriend’s, and they are both in rehab. Shestated she can no longer care for the dog andwill be relinquishing it to the SPCA onMonday.

Carmel Valley: Resident was stopped on
Carmel Valley Road for a vehicle code viola-tion. Driver was arrested for driving under theinfluence of alcohol.
Carmel area: Someone used a facsimile ofa Bank of America MasterCard during a 13-daybuying spree to charge $5,000 worth of goodsin the Middle East. All the charges were madein Pakistan.
Carmel area: A Dolores Street hotelreported discovering an employee had embez-zled more than $7,000 in cash over the pastseveral months.
Carmel Valley: Assisted Carmel Valley FireDepartment while crews extinguished a resi-dential fire on El Caminito.
Carmel area: While responding to a call,deputy found a wallet lying in the roadway. Theowner was identified, and the propertyreturned.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: A 35-year-old malesubject was contacted during a fight at a localbar on Lincoln Street. He was found to have
hidden cocaine in a trash area. He left the sceneduring the commotion and was later found inthe area. He was arrested and booked intocounty jail.
Pacific Grove: Dispatched to a suspiciousvehicle on Jewell Avenue. Neighbor heard atruck backup warning beeper. She looked out-side and saw a white, work-type, pickup truckwith tool boxes in the bed. It had backed intoand parked in her neighbor’s driveway. She sawa thin man walking around with a flashlightnear the garage. He then got back into his truckand drove away. She called her neighbor to findout if he was expecting anyone, because he wasout of town. The officer checked the entireexterior of the house. All doors and windowsappeared secure.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Fire engine and ambu-lance dispatched to a residence on SecondAvenue. The call was originally dispatched as astructure fire, but CPD was on scene andadvised the engine crew that, per the tenant, theissue was dust from the furnace which activat-ed the smoke detector.
