Maestro d’Arte, Carmine Carlo Maffei, dipinge per pura passione, stimolato da un insaziabile istinto emozionale, anelando alla sublime intenzione di riuscire a trasmettere il proprio sentimento attraver-so il suo fare arte.

Ci narra di momenti di vita intima, di quel vissuto, che solo un uomo sensibile e un artista generoso possono donarci senza chiedere nulla in cambio se non il piacere di poter stupire e affascinare lo spettatore.

La sua arte è molto varia e prolifica sia nei contenuti sia negli stilemi o nella tecnica: spazia da raffi-gurazioni curvi-formi di corpi sinuosi, talvolta volutamente asessuati, a volti appena accennati che si ripetono ritmicamente sulla tela. Dipinge con tecniche miste e ama farlo per il gusto di sperimentare, gusto che in lui emerge spontaneamente; subitaneo e fortemente istintivo; tipico di quel fare da artista curioso; per approfondire la conoscenza, nei più svariati ambiti creativi.

TRALASCIANDO LE IMPOSSIBILITA’

Art Master, Carmine Carlo Maffei, paints for pure passion, stimulated by an insatiable instinct emo-tional longing for the sublime intention of being able to convey his feelings through his art making.

Tells us of moments of intimate life, of that experience, that only a sensitive man and a generous artist can give us without asking anything in return other than the pleasure of being able to amaze and fascinate the viewer.

His art is very diverse and prolific both in content and in stylistic or technical: ranging from depictions curved-form of slender bodies, sometimes deliberately asexual, aimed at just mentioned that repeat rhythmically on the canvas. He paints with mixed techniques and loves to do it for the sake of experi-ment, taste that emerges spontaneously in him; sudden and highly instinctive; typical of that done by artist curious; to deepen their knowledge, in various creative fields.

IGNORING THE IMPOSSIBILITY

In other artistic works inclined instead toward surreal atmospheres, dream, where everything is su-spended and timeless, where the warm tones are wisely mixed with those cold without bring out “clutches” aesthetic, but simply suggesting what il’artista wants to catch a glimpse of his subjective experience.

Lunar landscapes are combined with biomorphic carousels; but a small window is still open, watching us and let observed. Outside it hangs a small red gift pack, which may never be opened ... or maybe yes. Beyond the bare tree resting on a metaphorical flooring style op-art, the Moon blesses us with his pale, looks at us silently.

Bodies mingle in pseudo wombs that by definition are restraints; where life is life and where everything is possible, are protected by invisible amniotic fluid and placentas seem narrowed in metaphysical.

Then again faces with gaping mouths screaming, maybe eat only air, but rest on vertical or diagonal that are not open to the dilemma. We speak, we notice, are hybridized to each other and not only ...

Maffei was inspired by observing the great artists of the past such as Magritte, as Boccioni and Bran-cusi, makes it a lesson learned from, one or more reference points, but never in the sense of imitation. Rather choose a tacit thought in which his works would devote a: to majora!

The artist draws beneventino therefore force from the bowels of the earth, the profound choice to feel free to express themselves and send the core of one’s being; always true to himself, so eager to nurture the emotional life of sap from never to compromise with styles or fashions.

In altri lavori artistici propende invece verso atmosfere surreali, oniriche, dove tutto è sospeso e atemporale e dove i toni caldi si miscelano sapientemente a quelli freddi senza farne emergere “fri-zioni” estetiche, ma semplicemente lasciando intendere ciò che il’artista vuol far intravedere del suo vissuto soggettivo.

Atmosfere lunari si accostano a caroselli biomorfici; ma una piccola finestra resta sempre aperta, ci osserva e si lascia osservare. Al suo esterno è appeso un piccolo pacco dono rosso, che forse non sarà mai aperto…o forse sì. Di là dell’albero spoglio che poggia su una metaforica pavimentazione stile op-art, la Luna ci benedice col suo pallore, ci guarda silente.

Corpi si aggrovigliano in pseudo uteri che per antonomasia sono contenitivi; dove la vita è vita e dove tutto è possibile, sono protetti da invisibili liquidi amniotici e paiono socchiusi in placente metafisiche.

Poi ancora volti, con bocche spalancate urlano, magari si nutrono di sola aria, ma poggiano su ver-ticali o su diagonali che non lasciano spazio al dilemma. Ci parlano, ci notano, sono ibridate tra loro e non solo…

Maffei è ispirato dall’osservare i grandi artisti del passato come Magritte, come Boccioni e Brancusi, ne fa una lezione da cui trarre insegnamento, uno o più punti di riferimento, ma mai in senso imitativo. Anzi sceglierei un pensiero tacito nel quale alle sue opere dedicherei un: ad majora!

L’artista beneventino trae dunque forza dalle viscere della terra, della profonda scelta di sentirsi libero di esprimersi e di trasmetterci il nucleo del proprio essere; sempre fedele a se stesso, talmente desideroso di nutrire la vita stessa di linfa emotiva da non voler mai scendere a compromessi con stilemi o mode del momento.
