A guest may enroll by simply paying the VPP cost in addition to their deposit or final payment. A guest is enrolled when the VPP cost (in addition to cruise monies due) is received by Carnival. Guests may review the detailed terms and conditions of VPP prior to purchase by logging onto Carnival’s website. This document is available for fax or e-mail via MKM fax. When may VPP be refunded? If the trip is canceled outside the penalty period, VPP is refundable. Who handles refunds for cancellations? Carnival will issue client refunds, if any, of amount received less applicable penalty - same as if no VPP was purchased. After Carnival processes the normal refund, the guest should file a claim with Berkely for the cancellation penalty imposed by Carnival. If the claim is for an eligible reason, Berkely will pay the claim. If the claim is not payable by Berkely, Berkely will advise Carnival and Carnival will issue the Cancel For Any Reason cruise credit. Travel agents or guests should call Berkely at 1-800-331-2796 to file for reimbursement. Refunds will be mailed directly to the enrolled guest. Trip Delay protection for prepaid, unused portion of a guest’s trip, additional accommodations, meals and traveling expenses to catch up if a guest is delayed en route to or from their trip due to inclement weather, strike, or equipment failure of a common carrier; a traffic accident en route to a departure in which the guest or the guest’s Traveling Companion is not directly involved; lost or stolen passports, travel documents or money; quarantine; hijacking; natural disaster; civil commotion or riot.
