SoftBank Group, a leading global carrier with more than 100 million subscribers, recently launched the SoftBank Mobile Wi-Fi system in Japan. The system has 460,000 access points around the greater Tokyo area and is one of the largest integrated Wi-Fi/cellular systems in the world.

In 2015, SoftBank Mobile announced free Wi-Fi service to tourists and business visitors to Japan. As part of SoftBank Mobile’s overall service bundle for subscribers, Wi-Fi is seamlessly integrated into the mobile network and provides transparent uninterrupted handover between 4G LTE and Wi-Fi, delivering superior quality of experience.
