General Template Guidelines• These templates were created to help get merchandise to the stores
in “floor ready”- meaning wrinkle free- condition.
• Items should be steamed or pressed prior to packing.
• Ensure the garments are completely dry prior to packing.
• Cartons should not be over or under filled. Overfilled cartons crush and wrinkle items, and underfilled cartons allow for too much movement.
• Carton length should be no longer than 40 inches to ensure carton integrity during transit.
• There should be ¼” of space between the merchandise and sides of the carton, as well as ¼” of space between garments and top of carton.
• All items must be in an individual polybag. Polybags are not to be tied.
• All items must be secured to the ends of the carton.
• Cartons must be durable enough to prevent crushing and ripping. Three ply, two flutes with edge crush of 32 lbs is the minimum requirement.
• Quantity per carton: this will vary depending on the weight of the garment, but 18 to 24 units is a good baseline number to use.
• When cartons are loaded onto the container- ensure that they are loaded right side up so the garments do not shift. Mark with arrows indicating top of carton to help if needed.
• If there is not a template that matches your item exactly, select the template that is closest to your item.
• When choosing tissue, clip size, and type, ensure that it is appropriate for the garment type, fabric, and size.
• If clip may bruise or otherwise damage fabric, use tissue paper in between clip and garment.
1
• All GOH containers should have a plastic inner lining of the walls
and floors and with eight (8) silica gel bags per 20ft container and
sixteen (16) silica gel bags per 40ft container, which are to be
positioned on the bars (beams) under the roof of the container.
• Beams per Container - *each beam must be able to hold 1000 kgs
• 20’ GOH’ container = 11 beams/bars
• 40’ GOH container = 22 beams/bars
• 45’ GOH container = 25 beams/bars
• Beam Spacing: 22 Inches / 55 cm
• Ropes per beam: 20
• Rope specifications: 14 ft. / 168 Inches - 3/8” / 1 cm - Nylon Braid
or similar material with 700 lbs Minimum Tensile Strength
stopping 3 ft from the bottom of the container.
• Loops per rope: 10 loops spaced 5 inches / 13 cm apart
• First loop is 4-6 inches from the top of the rope
• Containers should be loaded starting in the front (nose) left of the
container, top to bottom, left to right, front to back. The label
should be placed on the last garment of that CPO/Style/Color/Size
loaded into the container. Please see below for label placement
example.
Garments per loop guideline:
• All hangers/garments on the loop should hang almost vertical and
not bulge out at an angle.
• If garments are bulging on the rope, reduce the number of pieces
per loop or skip loops.
