CASA HOGAR ALFA Y OMEGA ORPHANAGE POZA RICA, VERA CRUZ MEXICO
Summer 2012
UPDATE
The ground was broken last summer for a new multi-purpose building,
which will house a large auditorium, to seat 800 people, a commercial
kitchen, a dining hall, interior and exterior, restrooms, all in a very
contemporary structure. This new building is an incredible step of
faith, initiated with a seed offering from a CD which came due last
year in the amount of about $40,000.00. The Herreras are trusting
God to make provision for the rest of the monies needed to build this
new building, which will greatly fill a need for a place for worship, for
the newly formed church, a place for preparation of meals, and a place
for eating meals together. This new auditorium will also provide a
place for public gatherings and the celebration of various events, such
as Quinceneras, weddings, etc. Please help us pray that God will
honor their faith and make provision for the continued building of this
multi-purpose building. They need a great miracle, but when it is
completed it will stand tall as a testimony once again of God honoring
faith! The projected cost of this new building is around $400,000.00.
The pictures include a picture of the progress thus far, as well as a
picture of the meager kitchen they have at the present time to serve
over 75 people.

There are several prayer needs for the ministry of Casa Hogar Alfa y Omega. Please add these to your prayer list personally and to the prayer list at your church!
Pray for provision for the new building. It will take a financial miracle to accomplish this, but they have seen God‟s miracles before and now is no different.
Pray for the new church which they have started on the property, an outreach to the street people of Poza Rica.
Pray for the children as they get older, graduate from school, that God will grant direction and guidance in their lives.
SPECIAL PRAYER NEEDS AT CASA HOGAR
“The burden to reach the people under the bridge and on the streets of Poza Rica has been rekindled and once again they are reaching out to them. A new church has started at Casa Hogar to serve this unique congregation.”

Pray for sponsors for children and workers who have no monthly sponsors.
Pray for Elias and Mirna and their family as they serve in Nogales, Mexico at Casa Vida Nueva, many many miles from their families.
Pray for Omar and Ivonne as the National Youth and Discipleship Director for the Church of God in Mexico. Pray that God will lead and direct them this year, as they encounter new leadership at the National Assembly for the Church of God in Mexico in July.
Continue to pray for PASTOR ELIAS & SISTER TERESA who have both suffered physical illness this year. Both have a
need of physical healing. Their sickness has
hindered them from traveling to the United States to visit churches
this year.
Using fire and
dance, this unique
group of ‘street
evangelists’ have
come alongside
Pastor Elias in
reaching those on
the streets of Poza
Rica! They are
reaching those
whom the church is
not reaching.
Casa Hogar Alfa y Omega has provided the director for a new orphanage in
Nogales, Mexico, Casa Vida Nueva. Elias & Mirna and their family are
providing excellent leadership for this new ministry! Juan de Dios has also
joined them and Marilin is planning to start work there this summer! While
there, we gave them shoes and superhero underwear collected by kids at
Kidfest and FOCUS attendees.
CASA HOGAR WORKERS BLESSED WITH
SPECIAL GIFTS
Some very special gifts were presented by some of the team members to some of the very dedicated and committed adult workers at Casa Hogar. Many of them give of their lives 24/7, without promise of any financial renumeration. Rarely does the orphanage budget and receipts permit them to receive a salary for their hard work. When the STEP teams go, they enjoy blessing the workers and the January team was not exception!
In January, we were able to bless each worker with a cash gift, as well as a gift bag full of various items, some of which they had place on their „gift list‟. Pastor Elias was surprised greatly when the team presented him with an IPad!
The workers at Casa Hogar work voluntarily without any promise of any renumeration/salary for their hard work. This is truly a calling of sacrifice to live 24/7 with those children, serving them in
FARM LAND PURCHASED AND FLOURISHING!
Farm land has been purchased and is flourishing, about 30 minutes from Casa Hogar. In January, the team traveled to see this new property and what is being accomplished on it. For some time, Pastor Elias has been praying for a source of income and an opportunity to teach the children a trade. With the purchase and development of this property, in the future both will be possible.
Hundreds of orange trees have been planted, along with banana trees, and corn. In the future, when the trees grow and mature, they will produce fruit which can be sold and profit the ministry.
A couple, from a very poor background, has assumed the care of the property. They live on the property in very meager housing and are committed to this new endeavor. While there in January, the

their needs. Thank God for those who have accepted the call! Each trip, we endeavor to honor them and bless them. In July 2011, during our summer trip, we gave them a one night stay mini-retreat at the hotel and some of the team members stayed with the children at the orphanage so they could enjoy a hot shower, air conditioning and comfortable beds for the night, in peace and quiet. But the thing they enjoyed most was the time of fellowship with the team members!
At the close of our trip, supplies and food was purchased and given, with offerings from various donors and churches. A prayer was given to ask the Lord to multiply this food to last for six months. Food is always a great need and we discovered has been greatly lacking, due to lack of finances for purchase. The lack of finances for daily needs is greater now than it has ever been.
team learned how to make tortillas on an open fire. Thank God for folks who are willing to do whatever they have to do to help kids in need! No sacrifice is too great for folks like this! The Life Church in Huntsville, Alabama, Pastor Kevin McGlamery, has accepted the challenge to raise the funds to build a simple house for this couple. Thank God for caring pastors and churches willing to assist in the time of need! The first installment of $4500 has been deposited and work will begin on the house very soon.

Changing Lives For Eternity
Thank you for your continued support and monthly contributions. Your
giving is making a difference! Though the monthly sponsorship program
does not meet all the financial obligations, it is helping to make
provision. Pray that God will continue to touch more people with the
burden of this great need! If you desire to continue your monthly
sponsorship or if you desire to sponsor a child for 2012-2013, please
complete the form enclosed and return it. In July, we will have a
birthday party for everyone. If you would like to send something to the
individual you sponsor, contact us immediately! We will have to have it
by June 30.
