Analysis of front coverThe masthead is slightly covered by the featured artist which represents that it is an established and recognised magazine. The colour scheme

has a lot of neon colours such as bright yellow, purple and pink; however the colour scheme seems to be fairly plain but by using grey as a background cover makes it seems more stylish and sophisticated.

The skyline ‘The worlds biggest dance music and clubbing magazine’ makes it seems more established. The artist is

giving a direct mode of address.

The main part of the cover line is in bold followed by a brief explanation below it in a regular font.

The barcode is clearly noticeable.

Symmetrical layout makes it seem more stylish.

The puff of ‘plus’ grabs the readers attention as it has a yellow neon background.

Analysis of the contents pageIssue number +

date listed next to the contents title.

The large main image on the left links to cover feature.

One column.

Stylish black background makes the colourful image stand out which is effective as it grabs the readers attention.

The puff for a ‘free cd’ on the bottom hand corner grabs the readers attention as it isn’t in the main column.

The page numbers down the side of the column are yellow to make it stand out.

The contents title is in a different font to everything else.

In the column are subheadings.

For each feature the first bit of the sentence is in bold.

Analysis of the double page spread

The title is large and bold.

14 images on the spread makes the magazine seem busy which links in with the dance focus of the magazine. As ‘Breezer’ is an alcoholic drink it shows that the magazine is for people 18+.

The puff in the yellow box links in with the article and grabs the readers attention.

There are two separate articles instead of just one.

The tour dates on the right hand side of the magazine add colour and breaks up the page. The pink and black colours make it easier for the reader to read. Most of the subheadings have a coloured background which grab the readers attention.
