The underground utility survey was completed to PAS128 specification as requested by the client. This ensures that all survey work meets a high specification of detection and post-processing and that all buried services are accurately located and positioned.

The utilities were detected using a combination of EML and GPR techniques. All conducting services were detected using EML and marked on the ground. Non-conducting utilities were located by post-processing and analysing the GPR data within our Geophysical Department.

The topographical survey was completed utilising the latest one-man robotic total station to ensure efficient survey practices. A survey benchmark was established using the Trimble VRSNOW real-time correctional service and a control network was established using traditional traverse techniques. All survey detail was measured from known control stations.

In addition, we were also contracted to produce elevation drawings of existing buildings to aid the design process of the new stores. The existing buildings were laser scanned to produce a fully reference 3D point cloud. The data was post-processed within Trimble Realworks and 2D and 3D elevational drawings were created using Recap Pro.
