DESCRIPTIONCasing Scraper is used to remove mud or cementsheath, imbedded bullets, perforation burrs, rust, millscale, paraffin and similar substances from the insidewalls of the casing. The importance of keeping this vital"working surface" clean and smooth is because allsubsequent operations in the well are affected in oneway or another by the condition of the casing ID. Animbedded bullet or sharp burr can damage a swab cupor packing element; less-than-full calculated insidediameter can be responsible for premature set of close-tolerance tools; and hardened rotary mud or a thincement sheath left after drilling out following a cementjob may prevent the slips of a pack-off tool fromengaging the wall of the casing

FEATURES/ADVANTAGESRugged Construction. The body of the Scraper ismachined from solid bar stock, and blade blocks are ofcase hardened steel for absolute maximum ruggednessand strength.Rotating or Reciprocal Action . The Casing Scraperoperates successfully either when rotated orreciprocated vertically on Drill Pipe or Tubing. It canalso be run on cable-tool drilling line with jars andsinkers when ordered with a cable-tool joint pin up.Cannot "Screw" Down During Rotation. The angle anddirection of shear of the scraping edges of the bladesare such that the Scraper cannot "screw" down pastburrs as it rotates.

OPERATIONFor removal of cement sheath, the Scraper should beinstalled between the drill bit and the drill collar sothat both the drilling-out and the sheath removal canbe accomplished at the same time. It is good practiceto maintain circulation while these operations arebeing conducted. The Scraper should be runcompletely through the perforated section withoutrotation, then pull back up and make a rotary runthrough the section. Casing Scrapers can be operatedwithout rotary equipment by simply runningcompletely through again. If the perforation densityis relatively high, it is a good policy to rotate thetubing a quarter of a turn with tongs. A Junk Basketis some time run above the Casing Scraper. If themud pumps do not have the capacity to maintain thenecessary circulation, the Basket may be mountedbelow the Scraper.

DESCRIPTION

The Model "B" Junk Basket aids in the removal ofcuttings from the hole when drilling or milling drillable ornon-drillable materials. The basket is positioned justabove the bit or Milling Tool in the Drilling String. Itconsists of a Drill Collar, a Cylinder and a Drill Collar Sub.This forms a basket for trapping the metal cutting. Theeffectiveness of the unit lies in the reduction ofcirculation fluid velocity upon reaching the upperportion of the Cylinder, which allows metal cutting todrop into the basket.

DESCRIPTION &APPLICATION :Junk Sub, which is normally run jus t above the drill bit, has acup for catching object too heavy to be completely circulatedout of the hole. This is particularly advantageous in junkmilling operations.By running a Junk Sub above a Scraper, operators can getquicker, cleaner scraping jobs.Junk Sub is constructed from high quality steel, and features arib guide which prevents the cup from becoming crushed andhelps guide the tool through tight places upon withdrawalfrom the hole.
