FDP 1 BREAK FDP 2

• The Scheduled Duration of FDP 1 is not permitted to exceed the max FDP before the break.

• The Duration from the start of FDP 1 to the end of FDP 2 must not be scheduled to exceed the Max FDP.

• The FDP extended by Split Duty must be assigned with advanced notice that it is a split duty.

• The duration of the break does not include time of post flight duties after FDP1, travel time to.from the rest facility and pre flight duties before FDP 2.

• The rest period after a Split FDP is at least 9:00 + Applied FDP Extension.

Should the difference between the calendar dates from when a leg arrives minus the date when the last 24 hour rest period began exceeds 6 the crewmember is illegal.

Examples:The last 24 hour rest period began on day 2. Leg 1 ends on day 8.o 8 – 2 = 6 which is less than or equal to 6, so leg 1 is legal. o The full 24 hour rest is within the 7 day span.

Leg 2 ends on day 9.o 9 – 2 = 7 which is greater than 6, so leg 2 is illegal.o Only 20 hours of the last 24 hour rest falls within the 7 days span.

Leg 3 ends on day 9.o 9 – 2 = 7 which is greater than 6, so leg 2 is illegal.o Only 20 hours of the last 24 hour rest falls within the 7 days span.

CASR 121.472(f) – Extension Beyond Scheduled FDP limit• May only be applied for unforeseen operational circumstances on domestic operations

only.• The scheduled FDP limits may be extended by 3:00 provided that:

• The rest period following extended FDP is increased beyond the required rest by the amount of the FDP extension.

• All Flightcrew involved first consider that safety will not be an issue.
