FUCHS LUBRITECH (FLT) willsell the food grade lubricants

of the CASSIDA and FMbrands worldwide

With effect from 1 October 2010, FUCHS PETROLUB AG of Mannheim, Germany, has taken overthe worldwide food grade lubricants business from Shell International Petroleum of London.The acquisition encompasses not only the technical know-how, including formulas and approvals,but also the complete customer base and the trademark rights.

The product range covers the CASSIDA and FM brands as well as the specialities from the SUGARMILL series, all of which will continue to exist. For customers of FUCHS and FLT the takeoverrepresents the completion of a range of lubricants for the food and beverage industry.

What organisational changes will there be?

The operational business is handled by FUCHS LUBRITECH of Kaisers-lautern, Germany. All activities are incorporated in the newlyestablished FLT Food division which is responsible for the salesand marketing of food grade products.

The division is supported in this by numerous subsidiaries anddistributors around the world, which together form a globalnetwork. The lubricants for the food industry that are alreadysuccessfully marketed by FUCHS under the trademark GERALYNwill be gradually integrated into the CASSIDA brand, whichfunctions as the new lead brand.

In Germany the sister company BREMER & LEGUIL GmbH (B & L)of Duisburg, will serve the end customer business. B & L hasestablished its own range of food-related approved lubricantsunder the RIVOLTA lead brand with the F.L. / F.L.G. productrange and has acquired an excellent reputation in the foodand beverage industry. The RIVOLTA range is not affected bythe takeover, but is supplemented in certain segments by the

CASSIDA range.

What can you also expect from us in future?

Against this organisational background we can now offer you an even more extensive range offood grade lubricants. The CASSIDA range represents not only a significant extension, but also ameaningful addition with regard to many areas of application. We are now able to cover thelarge range of needs of food and beverage producing and processing companies as well as themanufacturers of peripheral packaging systems to even greater extent than before, even in thecase of very special requirements.

It is important that you know: we guarantee that the proven CASSIDA and FM products will continueto be available in the familiar high quality in future. The excellent advisory skills of our sales team andintensive support by our field service employees ensure that you are able to find and effectively use theoptimum lubricant for every application in the food and beverage industry.

Why are food grade lubricants so important?

All lubricating greases and oils used directly in the production, processing and packing not onlyof foodstuffs and beverages, but also of animal fodder, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and tobaccoproducts, must satisfy very special requirements. If they conform to these requirements, they areregistered within certain classifications by the American non-profit organisation NSF International ofAnn Arbor/Michigan.

The NSF registrations are oriented to the strict regulations of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration)and are considered to be the worldwide standard. The international standards lay down definitions andhygiene-related requirements for the formulation, manufacture, use and handling of those lubricants thatcould incidently come into contact with products during production and processing. Such contamination couldoccur, for example, during procedures such as the transmission of heat or power, or the lubrication or anti-corrosion treatment of machines.

All of the food-grade lubricants offered by us have been checked by NSF International and have successfully passedextensive tests. Hence, the respective NSF classification can be found on all CASSIDA and FM products.
