A 4.1.1 Power Transformers

Both in SMS2 and SMS3 Power transformers are used accordingto the necessity voltage level and power of maximum 40 MVA.

Power transformers are especially designed and manufacturedaccording to the Mobile application with the sizes and weightaccording to the international roadway rules to allow themaximum mobility.

They may be manufactured with ONAN, ONAF, OFAF, OFWFcooling systems and different connection groups according tothe system. Tap changing is generally made with OLTC.

Transformers  located to Mobile substations are consist ofhigh quality materials and process. On request the tankcan also be manufactured in a hot-dip galvanized design.

According to the voltage and power necessity also Dry typePower Transformers can be used on Mobile Substationapplications.

A 4.1.2 Distribution Transformers

Distribution transformers are used as standard on SMS1 seriesMV/LV Mobile Substations.

Distribution transformers up to 4 MVA are especially designedand manufactured according to the Mobile application with thesizes and weight. Two types of transformers are possible forthe Mobile application as Oil type and Cast resin

One of the major important issues is noise of the transformersin mobile applications. During routine test in the factory quietudeof transformer are part of the checklist together with standardcontrols such as temperature rise test, impulse voltage test, partial discharge measurement, Short-circuit strength, testwith applied voltage (winding test), test with induced voltage(turn test), measurement of winding resistance, measurementof voltage ratio and determination of vector group, measurement of short-circuit voltage and of short-circuitlosses, measurement of no-load current and of no-load losses.

Reducing the noise emitted by the transformer in theenvironment is becoming more and more important. Thereforeoil distribution transformers also offer – besides the standarddesign acc. to DIN 42500 – reduced losses and noise levelstoo. In addition to the choice of flux density and core material, the step-lap technique of joining the legs and yoke also reducesnoise levels and no-load losses.

A 4.1 Transformers

For instance oil tankmanufactures as corrugated by using modern folding facilityprocesses the steel sheet into high-quality corrugated walls.Tank has been controlled after precise welding with controlliquid and ultraviolet light for leakage.  Additionally Coating oftank and cover based on hydro-coating material by floodingor dipping method against to corrosion.
