“Here, the real art of the bicycle is for each to have its purpose.”

Dwan Shepard & Dan Vrijmoet

Co-Motion Cycles started simply: We built a few bikes for ourselves and our friends, and discovered that we were able to rise to the occasion when challenged by new ideas or problems. Not once have we stopped questioning the way things have always been done. While finding better ways to make our bicycles stand apart, we’ve learned more than we ever imagined, from designing new bicycle tubing to the intricacies of our own CNC machining and maintaining an amazing, talented workforce.

These years have taught us the joy of coming to know the people most important to us: Our customers. From global tourists to Paralympic gold medalists to the child starting on the back of her parents’ tandem, and everyone who just wants a beautiful bike ride; we thank you all so much. Our business has thrived only because you entrusted us to build you a great bike. We promise to you that we will make your next bike right here in Oregon with love, with pride and the care and attention to detail that you have come to expect, as always.

We want to help you discover what you will do with your Co-Motion, whether it’s a tandem, road bike, ‘cross bike, or tourer, it’s really all about the kind of adventure you’re ready for. Inside, we’ll show you a few of the ways you can enjoy exploring the neighborhood and the world around us on Co-Motion bicycle made just for you. Your adventures may include a daily commute, morning and afternoon bonding time with your school-age child, discovering long forgotten roads into the back country, or traversing the spine of your favorite continent. We specialize in bicycles that are made to do these things for you, beautifully.

Connecting with your kids on a tandem is a wonderful way to bring your family together for adventures to grow on. Your PeriScope tandem grows with your children until they’re at least as tall as you are. Simple, no-tool adjustment means that Mom or Dad can ride with the kids in seconds. Smaller adults and difficult-to-fit pairs of all descriptions will find the PeriScope fits perfectly, with that Co-Motion ride quality you’ve heard so much about.

For middle school kids and larger, consider our Primera and Mocha tandem models, with great value and fitting range for mid-sized kids as well as adults.

TRavElWhere will you be taking your bicycle next? With a Co-Motion Co-Pilot, your bike can fit into airline-checkable luggage, opening up a whole world of cycling destinations. Co-Motion Co-Pilot bicycles and the people who ride them have cycled on every major land mass on earth. Yes, even Antarctica.

Co-Motion has been the world leader in S+S coupler-equipped travel bikes since launching our Co-Pilot project in 1994: Superb bicycles with full sized frames and wheels that simply fit into luggage. The 17-4 stainless steel S+S Coupling features interlocking teeth, drawn together by a threaded lock ring. Incredibly, a Co-Motion Co-Pilot bicycle frame is measurably stronger than an identical frame without couplings. We offer a wide range of bicycles with the Co-Pilot option to fit all of your travel needs.

Is there a better purpose for a bicycle than the daily duties of carrying you to work or taking a few groceries home? We’re avid bike commuters here, proud that our community rates as one of the Nation’s tops in everyday cycling.

While almost any bike can serve as a city beast of burden in a pinch, your choice of a Co-Motion single or tandem model paired with our experience braving the Northwest’s sopping streets year ‘round will have you grinning to and from your most-visited destinations.

Single bikes for your commute

Nor’WesterThe road bike that takes bigger tires + fender is ideal for a century ride or your ride in to the 9- 5 shift. Sling a bag over your shoulder or carry a pannier for your packed lunch and a change of clothes.

Cascadia AlfineThe Cascadia Alfine’s internal gearing and Gates Carbon Drive belt keep your commute and your errands clean and hassle free. Equipped to accept your favorite fenders and racks, the Cascadia Alfine takes a load off your mind.

Americano RohloffJust because the Americano Rohloff is built for global touring doesn’t mean you have to keep it garaged. Let it serve as your beast of burden any day of the year. Toss your tablet, your lunch, and a change of clothes into your waterproof panniers, and keep your legs ready for your next continental crossing.

Tandem bikes for your commute

PeriScope ScoutYour daughter’s elementary school is between work and home, so why not use the PeriScope for double duty? Drop her off at school, and ride on to work.

CarreraYou both work downtown, so why not make the commute on a tandem? Start and finish your working day right together, and enjoy the free workout! For more information on our Urban models please visit our website at www.co-motion.com/urban

pavEmENT CyClOCROssCo-Motion’s reputation has been built on bicycles that thrive on a great stretch of road. We proved that tandems could be more than just an amusement for older couples, and took them to a higher level of speed and performance. You don’t have to pin a number on your back to enjoy a Co-Motion road tandem or single road bike. All you need is an appreciation for acceleration and a will to push your pedals a little harder. Your club mates will be green with envy.

Road SinglesEspressoAn exercise in the beauty of simplicity, the Espresso is a superbly executed, perfectly balanced, classic road machine that couples the unmatched ride quality of steel with the ultimate in lightweight design.

RistrettoClean lines and exemplary workmanship demonstrate our commitment to substance over marketing fluff. Hand-built quality with incredible rigidity and light weight seldom seen outside the world of imported carbon copies.

Mom told you long ago not to play in the dirt, and you always took the opportunity to get dirty when she wasn’t looking, didn’t you? Now that you’re back in the muck where you belong, you’ve learned that with the right equipment, being caked with the cold soup of the typical cyclocross course is just as fun as tracking mud through the house used to be. As they say; the devil is in the details.

DemonThe Demon’s race-proven and beautifully crafted Reynolds 853 frame make it easy to shoulder, and even easier to love.

LuciferDiabolically fast, the Lucifer is made from our ACMUltra7 zonally butted 7005 series aluminum tubes. Race proven in the muddy northwest, it’s hellishly tough to beat!

VeloRaptorBuilt for the new wave of cyclocross, with front and rear (hydro-ready!) disc brakes, tapered head tube and the incomparable toughness of Reynolds 853 tubes.

CX RexThe 21st century ‘cross bike is here. The CX Rex has everything you need to stomp and consume your competitors: ACMUltra 7 aluminum frame with tapered headtube, disc brakes and a deadly appetite!

KlatchMade for gravel racing, the Klatch is easily up to the task of CX racing. You decide where your adventure takes you.

COlOR american made, Oregon made, HandmadeAt Co-Motion Cycles, we’re serious about the handmade difference. Here, each bicycle is made to order; Even the stock sized, one-color bike is unique to you. All Co-Motion bicycles use proprietary zonally butted tubing designed by us. Every Co-Motion frame is mitered, welded, brazed, and finished by hand, right here in Oregon. After fabrication is complete our in house paint department does everything from simple one color applications to multi-color fades, including entirely custom paint designs. We control our own destiny by making many of the parts that make up each frame; just another way our bikes are a cut above. We machine our own steerer tubes, machined headtubes, bottom bracket shells, eccentric bottom brackets, dropouts, seat collars, derailleur clamps, the PeriScope telescoping seatmast system, and more.
