YASKAWA and VIPA have laid the foundation for a new kind of automation technology.
The experiences of VIPA with PLC control technology have beencombined with those of YASKAWA in the field of motion contol. Theresult is the SLIO CPU iMC7, a PLC with integrated motion controlfunctions.EtherCAT is available for simple communication with the YASKAWAinverters and servo drives. The combination of the SPEED7 Studioengineering platform, the new Sigma-7 series and the iMC7 makesit possible to realize motion control tasks easily in a VIPA SPEED7controller.SPEED7 Studio provides a catalog of YASKAWA drives. This makesit possible to add these components to the fieldbus using a drag-and-drop function. Project planning also becomes much easier.With the motion control setup it is possible to define axes in themotion contol instructions. Demand for a more compact and flexible automationsolutions with a reasonable price-performance ratiohas been constantly increasing. With the developmentof the completely new I/O system SLIO®, VIPA is settinga new standard in the automation sector.The VIPA I/O system SLIO combines high functionalitywith an intelligent mechanical concept and an extremelycompact design.SLIO® is a synonym for slice-I/O. With its very compactdesign, the system can be set-up “step by step” toexactly meet the requirements of the application.The Interface Modules (IM) for PROFIBUS-DP, CANopen,PROFINET, EtherCAT and Modbus can support up to64 Electronic Modules (EM).The Power Modules (PM), which are contrasting incolor to Signal Modules (SM) and Function Modules(FM), supply voltage to the Electronic Modules. Decoupled potential groups can be defined if required.The Electronic Modules are connected to the Terminal
ModuleTM using a secure plug-in mechanism. TheTerminal Module is comprised of a clamp, connectionof Electronic Modules and mechanical bus connector.Therefore, if maintenance or repair are required, onlythe Electronic Module will have to be exchanged bysimply pulling it out of the Terminal Module. Wiringand mounting on the 35mm DIN rail will remainunchanged.The staircase-shaped cage, which clamps on theTerminal Module offers fast, clear, and secure wiring.With the integrated status-LEDs and the labeling stripon the front, an exact state monitoring of channelson the Electronic Module is possible.The new backplane bus system with a transmissionrate of 48Mbit/s offers very short response timeswith a signal processing of less than 20µs.SLIO® is one of the most powerful and cost-effectivedecentralized systems available in the market.

MCC-MEMORY CONFIGURATION CARDVIPA MCC offers the possibility to extend the RAM ofSPEED7 CPUs. The MCC is a specifically prepared MMC(multimedia Card). Plug the MMC into the card slot andexecute an overall reset and the extension becomesavailable. The MCC must remain plugged in, otherwisethe CPU switches to STOP after 48 hrs.
The MCC can’t be exchanged to a MCC with the samememory configuration, but it can be used for the projectbackup (Copy RAM > ROM). The shown MCC memoryvalue increases the already available basic memory ofthe CPU by the value of the card. VIPA offersSPEED7, the technology of tomorrow, based on a million times proven STEP®7-programming platform. A flexible memory management covers all possible appli-cations from 64kByte to 8MByte. Program and data are stored in one memory, sono extra loading me mory is necessary. A pluggable MMC/SD-Card allows configu-ration as well as project and data secu rity in a FAT16 format compatible with PC. The CPUs of the system 200V need only 30% of the space required of the S7-300®
CPUs, but nevertheless operate with the full STEP®7 instruction set S7-315® bySIEMENS. Through the standard MPI interface via PG programming unit, PC adaptor andoperator panels from SIEMENS, ESA, ADVANTECH, VIPA a.s.o. can be connected.To save the project, a custom MMC card can be used.
The RAM and Flash memory necessary for the operation are included in the CPU.Additionally PROFIBUS-DP master, DP-Slave, RS232 interface or TCP/IP CP-unitcan be combined in different CPU variations. High memory sizes up to 128kByteprogram memory and 192kByte load memory with short cycle times offer a bigarea of application. A CPU can supply up to 32 units.

The industrial switches EN5-R (5-Port) and EN8-R are entry-level models which support the IEE802.3 or 802.3x/u with 10/100M full / half duplex and MDI/MDIX recognition. They are designed foroperating temperature ranges of -10° up to 60°C and can also be deployed in rough industrialenvironments.
The Ethernet switches PN5-RD (5-Port) and PN8-RD (8-Port) are Managed Ethernet switches withintegrated PROFINET functions. This makes it easier to integrate the PN switches into PROFINEToriented engineering systems and also support a variety of useful management functions such asIGMP Snooping, IEE802.1Q VLAN, Qos, Port mirroring, SNMP, bandwidth management and warningby e-mail or relay output.
The ProfiHub B5 PROFIBUS-DP repeater in a IP20 casing forindustrial automation, to implement long multi-device spur linesand backbone structures with star/tree segments for PROFIBUS-DP.It has the functionality of 5 galvanic isolated transparent repeaters.This allows network structures with extended spur lines that canhandle a maximum of 31 devices individually and a length equalto the main bus. The ProfiHub B5 refreshes a received message
on one channel and transfers it to all the other channels. Theadvanced 12Mbps core of the repeater B1 is identical to theProfiHub. It can be cascaded unlimitedly and is equipped withan isolated RS485 interface. The data is constantly monitoredfor glitches which are digitally filtered out. Every channel hason-board switchable termination and can drive 31 devices.

VIPA TEXT DISPLAYThe TD03 is a small, compact text display for showingmessages about current working conditions, for changingprocess parametres and setting flags with the built-in buttons.An S7®-MPI port can be used to connect it to all Siemens
S7-300/400® PLCs and VIPA series 100/200/300V PLC´s. The configuration is done with the VIPA TD-Wizard. Thegenerated parameters and data blocks are directly loadedin the PLC. The TD itself contains no project data.
VIPA OPERATOR PANELThe operator panel OP03 can be programmed by ProTool SWor OP Manager. It serves for the comfor table display andupdate of process values and the output of messages. AnS7®-MPI port can be used to connect it to all Siemens S7-
300/400® PLCs and VIPA series 100/200/300V PLC´s.
Up to 7 OPs are connectable at the same time to a PLC.As a specific feature the STEP®7 functions StatVAR andSteuVAR are implemented. For project transmission, the VIPAGreencable 950-0KB00 is used.
VIPA COMMANDER COMPACTVIPA CommanderCompact CC03 is an operator control panelwith a text display with 2x20 marks and an integrated PLCCPU, programmable with WinPLC7 by VIPA or with STEP®7by Siemens. The CPU of the CC03 disposes more than 16 KBof program memory and 24 KB of loading memory. In addition, 16 digital inputs and outputs are on board.
The CC03 can be extended with up to four 100V/200Vmodules. The programming can be done via Green Cablefrom VIPA or via standard MPI communication with MPIinterface. The alignment on high accessibility, functionalityand easy project development allows the various applica -tions with the CC03.
PROJECT DEVELOPMENTThe project development for theTD03 is done with TD-Wizard, thatgenerates one DB, which holds thesuitable data after the regis trationof the TD03 through an SFC.

Ethernet-Serial converters allow an easy decentralised constructionof serial connections. Changes of existing software are not necessary.The provided drivers generate virtual COM ports in every operatingsystem which behave like real COM interfaces. The serial data streamwill transmit bidirectional and with evey handshake line via TCP/IP inthe standard Ethernet.
USB-Serialconverters allow furthermore the use of devices with serialinterface, even if the PC owns none or not enough COM interfaces.A virtual COM port which can be used by consisting programs withoutupdate is generated by the provided driver. The converters contain128 bytes FIFOs and can be set to any transfer speeds up to921.600Bps.
