    Test procedure

    The insulating plates had the typical dimensions and

    w ere loaded w ith the w eight as noted in the

    corresponding table.

    To get an experim enta l setup as realistic as possible,

    the insulating p lates were positioned as three-

    point -bearings underneath th e reference-w eight.

    The experimental setup was activated by a 1600

    Newton X-Y-Z-shaker in vertical and horizontal

    direction in a frequency range from 0,5 up t o 100Hz.

    Technical note:

    The pro cedure described ab ove m easures thedynami cal stif fness, wh ich is much closer to realistic

    circumstances than the stati c sti ffness. This is because

    the stiffness of elastomer springs highly

    correlates w ith the activatio n f requency. Dynamically

    measured natural frequencies are normally

    higher than statically measured ones.
