Your children are our future leaders and it is our primary goal to empower them with knowledge and provide them with the finest education.

February 2008

Dear Parents and Friends of Holy Family Cathedral School:

As rector of Holy Family Cathedral parish, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 23rd annual Holy Family Cathedral School silent and live auction with its theme this year, "Some Enchanted Evening" A Masquerade Ball! It means so much that you’re here to share an evening like this with friends and family from the parish and school.

I am grateful to all who have worked so hard over the years in helping to make this event one of the most successful fundraisers for the cathedral school. Special thanks, of course, to this year’s team of generous volunteers who have done such a great job.

Once again this year, the dinner-auction is a chance to socialize with good friends, and to raise needed funds for the school at the same time. I hope to have the chance to meet you all, and to get to know you better. It’s my fourth school auction with you as your rector, and I know that it will be a great success!

The ministry of the cathedral school is an essential part of our parish life, and it is my privilege to be a part of it with you. The learning that goes on each day at Holy Family Cathedral School provides the foundation and the values for the future of the young people entrusted to our care.

If you’re here tonight for the first time, or if you’ve been a part of these auctions for many years, you are in for a treat! Have a great time, and thank you for supporting Catholic education here at Holy Family.

Sincerely,Very Rev. Donald A. RomitoRector

Letter From the Auction Chairs

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with much pride and joy that we welcome you to Holy Family Cathedral School’s twenty-third annual Live/Silent auction, “Some Enchanted Evening” A Masquerade Ball. We hope it is an evening of excitement, fun and lots of bidding!

The evening is a culmination of many hours of work by very dedicated and talented individuals. Thank you alone does not seem adequate to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for the many hours of preparation, unselfish sacrifice, creative ideas and support these individuals have given. We could have not put on this fantastic evening without them!

We also would like to thank the many donors, sponsors and underwriters of this evening. Thank you for helping make this evening possible.

Catholic education is a gift we give our children which will carry them through their lives. They are the true benefactors of this evening as we strive to enhance the educational opportunities that Holy Family provides for our children.

Enjoy!

Cheap Date is often referred to as the “Jack FM” of bands. They’d like to think of themselves more as the “Indie 103.1” of bands but let’s be real, if they played Indie stuff, none of their fans would know what the heck they were singing. Their repertoire spans nearly every musical style, from blues to country to alternative and, in a special category all by himself, Don Ho. But that isn’t why they are likened to “Jack”. THAT association has everything to do with the fact that they never play requests. It’s not that they don’t ask for the them, they just never actually take them. In fact, they seem to know every song in the world except for those requested by fans.

Comprised of seven Holy Family alumni...and Brian, who is currently cruising along in his seventh year of 8th grade there, they have been playing the private and public circuit for over 25 years.

They invite you to check out their web site www.loafstuff.com as well as their CD project “Damascus” (located throught the web site.
