Marazzi Group is the world leader in the design, production and

Sempre più spesso i consumatori e i professionisti che acquistano e

utilizzano i vari prodotti per l’edilizia si pongono domande concrete

riguardo al loro impatto ambientale. La ceramica è un materiale realiz-

zato partendo da materie prime sottoposte a una serie di processi di

lavorazione che si svolgono nel rispetto dell’ambiente. Marazzi dedica

già da anni energie cospicue alla ricerca e allo sviluppo di una politica

di produzione particolarmente attenta ai temi dell’ecologia e della

sostenibilità, che considera nel bilancio ambientale complessivo non

solo la qualità dei prodotti, ma anche i processi e le tecnologie necessari

per ottenerli. Per questo Marazzi interviene sistematicamente in tutta

la filiera per controllare i processi che vanno dall’estrazione alla pro-

duzione, fino alla gestione dei rifiuti, adottando numerosi accorgimenti

che permettono di ridurre in maniera decisiva l’impatto sull’ambiente

e sulla salute dei lavoratori.

Consumers and professionals who purchase building materials are in-

creasingly conscious about the environmental impact of the products

that they select. Ceramic is a material realized from primary materials

that undergo a series of working, environmentally-friendly processes.

For years, Marazzi has been investing great amounts of energy in re-

searching and developing an environmentally-conscious production

policy, focusing on ecological themes and sustainability. A policy that

considers not only the quality of the products but also the production

eStrAzioNeper produrre la ceramica è necessario estrarre dalla terra argille, quarzi, caolini e feldspati. in italia, europa e Stati Uniti, Marazzi utilizza cave che rispettano i piani di escavazione, coltivazione e ripristino della conformità morfologica e vegetazionale concordati con le autorità locali in conformità alle normative ambientali. Una volta portate a termine le attività estrattive, ogni cava viene riempita con materiale di scavo pulito e l’intera area viene sottoposta a un programma di rinaturalizzazione, con una particolare attenzione alla tutela della flora tipica della zona.

proDUzioNe— CoNtroLLo DeLLe poLVeri L’abbattimento delle polveri derivate dalle lavorazioni è una delle principali sfide dal punto di vista della tutela ambientale e della salute dei lavoratori. Negli stabilimenti Marazzi particolari sistemi di captazione e aspirazione mantengono sano l’ambiente di lavoro, mentre una successiva filtrazione tutela l’ambiente esterno, garantendo il controllo automatico dei livelli di emissione entro i limiti previsti dalle normative. Le polveri raccolte vengono in seguito reimmesse nel ciclo di produzione. — reCUpero DeGLi SCArtiNei suoi stabilimenti, Marazzi si pone come obiettivo il reimpiego della maggior quantità possibile di materiali di scarto, riducendo l’utilizzo di nuove risorse e limitando l’impatto ambientale in termini di produzione di rifiuti. Per questo durante il processo di macinazione i frammenti e i residui delle piastrelle crude vengono man mano recuperati e completamente riciclati. Gli scarti vengono infatti reintrodotti nel mulino e sottoposti nuovamente a macinazione insieme alle altre materie prime.— piGMeNti e oSSiDi CoLorANtiOgni giorno sui nastri trasportatori degli stabilimenti Marazzi scorrono file di piastrelle crude pronte per ricevere la colorazione tramite l’applicazione dello smalto. Gli smalti utilizzati da Marazzi provengono da pigmenti e da altre materie prime accuratamente controllate e corredate di schede di sicurezza. — riUtiLizzo DeLLe ACqUe Di LAVorAzioNeLe acque di lavaggio degli impianti e quelle utilizzate durante la smaltatura delle piastrelle vengono convogliate nel depuratore per essere poi reimpiegate nella macinazione. Anche le acque reflue dei processi di impasto vengono raccolte, depurate e reimpiegate nelle fasi successive della produzione.— DepUrAzioNe Dei FUMi e reCUpero DeL CALoreDopo la smaltatura interviene la cottura, che richiede un elevato quantitativo di energia. per ottimizzare i consumi della fase di cottura vengono utilizzate le migliori tecnologie disponibili, ivi compresa la cogenerazione che fornisce energia e calore. Tutti i forni sono dotati di impianti di filtrazione e abbattimento dei fumi, così che le emissioni trattate rispettino i limiti autorizzati dalle normative in vigore.

GeStioNe Dei riFiUtiTutti i rifiuti non recuperabili all’interno del ciclo di produzione vengono stoccati in aree controllate e conferiti ad aziende di recupero o smaltimento territoriale, a seconda delle varie tipologie. I rifiuti riciclabili al di fuori del processo ceramico, come legno, cartone e plastica da imballaggio, vengono raccolti e inviati al recupero di filiera. Quelli non recuperabili (in genere meno dell’1%) vengono trasportati in discariche autorizzate.

SiCUrezzA SUL LAVoroL’attenzione e il rispetto per l’ecosistema non prescindono dall’attenzione e dall’impegno sulla sicurezza e salute dei lavoratori; Marazzi ha fra i suoi obiettivi prioritari il continuo miglioramento delle condizioni di lavoro. A questo contribuiscono gli stessi lavoratori, istruiti e sensibilizzati in maniera specifica grazie a un programma di prevenzione, formazione, informazione e aggiornamento permanente.

extrACtioNin order to produce ceramics, quartz, kaolin and feldspars are extracted from the ground. in italy, europe and in the United States Marazzi uses quarries that respect the excavation, cultivation and regeneration plans of morphological and natural conformity, as agreed with local authorities and in respect of environmental laws. Once extractions are over, each quarry is filled up with clean digging material and the whole area undergoes a re-naturalization program, with particular attention to the regeneration of the flora that is typical of the area.

proDUCtioN— DUSt CoNtroLLimiting the amounts of dusts that arise from working the materials is one of the main environmental challenges, also from the point of view of workers’ health. in the Marazzi plants, particular capturing and aspiration systems maintain the work environment healthy, while further filtration prevents the outside environment from damages by guaranteeing the automatic control of emissions within the limits provided by law. the dust that is thus collected is then reused in the production cycle.— wASte reUSein its plants, Marazzi aims at reusing most of waste materials, hence reducing the use of new resources and limiting environmental impact in terms of waste production. For this reason, during the grinding process, fragments of uncooked tiles are progressively recycled. the waste is once again inserted in the mill and it is grinded again together with the primary materials.— piGMeNtS AND CoLoriNG oxiDeSevery day, on the Marazzi plants’ conveyer belts, lines and lines of uncooked tiles run side by side, ready to be glazed and colored. the glazes that Marazzi uses come from pigments and from other primary materials that were thoroughly checked and that have a safety certificate.— reUSe oF workiNG wAterSwashing waters from the plant and those that are used during the glazing of the tiles are conveyed towards the depurator to be then reused in grinding. Also the remaining waters from the doughing process are collected, filtered and reused in other production phases.— SMoke DepUrAtioN AND HeAt reUSe After glazing, the firing process starts. This requires a considerable amount of energy. in order to optimize energy consumption during this process, the best possible available technologies are used, also including co-generation, that provides both power and heat. Ovens also feature filtering and smoke reduction systems in order to ensure that resulting emissions are within the standards defined by current laws and regulations.

wASte MANAGeMeNtAll waste that it is not possible to reuse immediately are collected in controlled areas and given to recycling or disposal companies, according to their typology. recyclable waste that is not connected to the ceramic cycle, such as wood, carton, packing plastics, are collected and sent to the recycling units. the non-recyclable ones (normally less than 1%) are taken to authorized disposal units.

work SAFetYAttention and respect towards the eco-system are strictly linked to the care and commitment towards workers’ safety and security. Amongst its objectives, Marazzi also aims at a continuous improvement of work conditions. workers themselves contribute to this program in that they are educated in a very specific way about the issues through continuous information programs.

obiettiVi per L’AMbieNteil Gruppo Marazzi ritiene che il concetto di qualità sia necessariamente integrato e comprensivo degli aspetti legati al rapporto con l’ambiente e con la sicurezza del lavoro. L’Azienda ritiene che il conseguimento di tali obiettivi di alto valore sociale debba essere perseguito assieme agli obiettivi per la qualità dei prodotti e dei servizi erogati e, allo scopo, si impegna a:

–– Applicare le leggi e i regolamenti vigenti, nazionali e comunitari, in termini di salvaguardia dell’ambiente. questo obiettivo è esteso anche alla applicazione di ogni altro eventuale requisito sottoscritto dall’Azienda con i soggetti interessati (Enti territoriali, Associazione di Categoria, Associazioni Ambientalistiche, etc.) riguardante temi di prevenzione ambientale;

–– ottimizzare l’impiego delle risorse naturali, attraverso la riutilizzazione degli scarti di lavorazione e la raccolta differenziata dei rifiuti;

–– Fornire a tutto il personale operante ambienti di lavoro adeguati per la sicurezza e la salute dei lavoratori, applicando e monitorando sistematicamente i livelli standard previsti dalle leggi vigenti;

–– Conseguire un continuo miglioramento dell’efficienza ambientale attraverso il monitoraggio sistematico delle prestazioni ambientali e l’individuazione degli aspetti migliorabili, l’applicazione di opportuni programmi per il raggiungimento dei target e degli obiettivi di miglioramento individuati, l’assegnazione di mezzi e di risorse adeguate;

–– Creare la consapevolezza del contributo a tutti i livelli del personale interno e che opera per conto dell’Azienda, alla prevenzione ambientale e al miglioramento, attraverso attività pianificate di formazione e di informazione sui risultati delle prestazioni ambientali e dei programmi di miglioramento;

–– Coinvolgere i fornitori perché si conformino alle procedure ambientali aziendali, ai requisiti di sicurezza previsti dalla legislazione vigente, al divieto di utilizzo di lavoro minorile per la realizzazione dei propri prodotti. Selezionare i fornitori in base ai requisiti descritti;

–– Sensibilizzare i clienti sulla natura dei prodotti ceramici e sul loro corretto smaltimento in conformità alle prescrizioni legislative vigenti documentando queste informazioni sulle pubblicazioni di catalogo;

–– Sorvegliare e misurare gli effetti delle attività in corso sull’ambiente esterno ed interno, valutare a priori l’impatto ambientale di nuovi prodotti e processi;

–– Cooperare con gli enti di controllo e sorveglianza preposti;

–– Mantenere, in accordo con le procedure aziendali relative alla comunicazione, un dialogo aperto con il pubblico registrando e trattando le comunicazioni esterne e fornendo pubblicazioni ed aggiornamenti relativamente alle prestazioni ambientali derivanti dalle proprie attività;

–– Riesaminare la significatività degli aspetti ambientali derivanti dalle proprie attività in relazione ai mutamenti nel tempo dei punti di vista delle parti interessate e alle nuove disposizioni legislative e regolamentari;

–– Stabilire procedure che definiscano responsabilità e autorità per il trattamento e l’analisi di condizioni di non conformità, l’attuazione di azioni correttive commisurate ai rischi in caso di inosservanza della politica, degli obiettivi o delle norme dell’Azienda in materia di ambiente, l’attuazione di azioni preventive per eliminare le potenziali cause di non conformità.

–– optimize the use of natural resources, by reusing processing waste and sorting recyclables;

–– Supply all operating personnel with a work environment that protects their health and safety, systematically applying and monitoring the standards set by current laws;

–– Achieve constant improvements in environmental efficiency through systematic monitoring of environmental performance, identifying areas for improvement, implementing special initiatives to achieve targets and objectives, and allocating adequate funds and resources;

–– Foster awareness of how all levels of in-house staff and contractors can contribute to environmental protection and improvement, by providing scheduled training activities to keep them informed on the results of environmental performance and improvement initiatives;

–– engage suppliers so that they will comply with company environmental procedures, the safety standards set by current legislation, and the ban on use of child labour in manufacturing their products. Selecting suppliers based on the standards described above;

–– Sensitize customers to the nature of ceramic products and their correct disposal in compliance with current legislative standards, by printing this information in company catalogues;

–– Re-examine the significance of environmental factors deriving from its operations, in response to the changes that take place over time in stakeholder attitudes and new legislative and regulatory provisions;

–– Establish procedures that clearly define responsibility and authority in the processing and analysis of non-conformity, the implementation of risk-calibrated corrective measures in the event of non-complianc with policies, the company’s environmental targets and standards, and the implementation of preventive measures to eliminate potential causes of non-conformity.

Per pavimentazioni tecniche si intendono tutte le superfici orizzontali

sottoposte a sollecitazioni gravose e a carichi pesanti trasportati su

carrelli a ruote. Il materiale più adatto per questo tipo di impieghi deve

possedere una massa molto compatta e a bassissima porosità, con

elevata resistenza agli urti, all’usura e alla flessione. Per soddisfare

queste esigenze applicative, Marazzi propone una serie di prodotti

specifici in gres porcellanato con particolari caratteristiche di resistenza

meccanica e dimensioni e spessori idonei, con la possibilità di scegliere

una superficie strutturata e antiscivolo in grado di garantire un buon

livello di grip e un'adeguata facilità di pulizia. Le performance in

tale direzione vengono continuamente testate e dichiarate secondo

i metodi più utilizzati e riconosciuti nel settore ceramico a livello

internazionale.

Technical floorings are all horizontal surfaces undergoing considerable

stresses and heavy loads, transported on fork lift trucks. The most

suitable material for this type of use must have a highly compact body

and the lowest porosity, it must be highly resistant to impact, to wear

and to bending strength. To meet these application needs, Marazzi

proposes a series of products in porcelain stoneware, with particular

characteristics, namely mechanical resistance, suitable dimensions

and thickness, with the possibility of selecting a structured, non-slip

surface guaranteeing good grip and adequately easy cleaning. The

performances focused in this direction are continuously tested and

declared according to the best known and recognised methods in the

ceramic sector.

Da tempo promuoviamo la cultura dell’accessibilità intesa come il

superamento delle barriere architettoniche e urbanistiche per una

fruizione degli spazi agevole, sicura e indipendente da parte di tutti.

Per contribuire a fornire una maggiore autonomia di movimento a

non vedenti ed ipovedenti, Marazzi Tecnica ha creato Autonomy: un

sistema semplice di segnali tattili a pavimento, realizzato con piastrelle

in ceramica. Ogni piastrella reca – tramite una texture in rilievo – un

codice informativo che comunica in modo diretto e univoco. Le texture

sono state chiaramente pensate per stimolare il senso tattile del piede

e sfruttare il contatto del bastone sulla piastrella, mentre i contrasti

cromatici e i colori sono utili come ulteriori elementi di comunicazione

per gli ipovedenti. Autonomy è frutto di una collaborazione con Studio

& Partners di Milano, con associazioni di disabili visivi e rappresentanti

dei non vedenti, che hanno svolto un ruolo attivo nella definizione

del progetto.

For a while have been promoting a culture of accessibility, trying to

solve the issue of architectural and urban barriers and allowing an

easy, safe and independent fruition and use of all spaces and environ-

ments, for all. In order to provide a greater freedom of movement for

the blind and the visually impaired, Marazzi Tecnica has developed

Autonomy: a simple system of tactile floor signals, made of ceramic

tiles. Each tile provides – through a texture – an information code

that communicates in a direct and clear way with the user. Textures

were conceived to stimulate the tactile feeling of the foot and to use

the contact of the walking stick on the tile. At the same time, the

chromatic contrasts are useful as further communication signals for

the visually impaired. Autonomy is the result of a collaboration with

Studio & Partners from Milano, with associations of visually impaired

and representatives of blind people, who have had an active role in

the definition of the project.

Le nuove torri dell’NH Hotel Fiera di milano sono due giganteschi monoliti dalla geometria sobria e controllata di colore nero lucido, inclinati di 5 gradi rispetto alla verticale. L’esterno degli edifici è costituito interamente da pareti ventilate traforate da bucature irregolari che ne sottolineano l’omogeneità ma anche la sottile tensione, nati dalla felice collaborazione tra l’architetto Dominique Perrault e marazzi engineering, che ha fornito su richiesta un prodotto speciale. il risultato è Jolly Black, una lastra di grande formato (50 x 100 cm) costituita da un fondo di gres porcellanato rivestito da uno strato di vetroceramica nera che permette l’innesto, in corrispondenza della faccia interna, degli elementi di aggancio alla sottostruttura di ancoraggio. L’accoppiamento tra materiali differenti permette di ottenere un prodotto dotato di ottima resistenza meccanica, oltre che completamente impermeabile all’acqua e con elevate qualità specchianti che conferiscono un aspetto eccezionalmente trasparente e luminoso a questa architettura.

The new towers of the NH Hotel in the milan Fair District are two giant monoliths characterized by a glossy, black-coloured sober controlled geometry, inclined by 5 degrees with respect to their vertical line. The exterior of the buildings consists entirely of ventilated walls pierced by irregular holes which underline their uniformity, but also the slight tension, created by the successful cooperation between Dominique Perrault and marazzi engineering, which supplied a special product on request. The result is Jolly black, a large size slab (50x100 cm) consisting of a porcelain stoneware base, covered with a layer of black glass ceramic which allows the fitting – at the internal wall – of elements that connect to the anchoring substructure. The combination of different materials makes it possible to obtain a product with excellent mechanical resistance, in addition to being completely waterproof, and offering high reflecting qualities which confer an exceptionally transparent and bright appearance to this building.

gli anonimi prospetti del grande blocco che ospita i magazzini Wilkinson e i relativi uffici amministrativi, realizzati con pannelli di calcestruzzo finiti a graniglia, sono stati completamente riqualificati in occasione dei lavori di riadeguamento dell'edificio. La porzione inferiore dell'ampio fronte d'ingresso era caratterizzata da una distribuzione irregolare delle aperture, che sono state unificate da una trave in acciaio lunga oltre 40 metri di un vivace colore giallo. La quota di imposta della trave, a circa 2,50 metri da terra, rappresenta anche il bordo inferiore della nuova facciata ventilata che avvolge l'intero edificio, dandogli un aspetto fresco e dinamico grazie al marcato effetto specchiante che permette di integrare architettura e ambiente. L'utilizzo di un paramento ceramico semplice e continuo ha dato una nuova dignità architettonica all'edificio. La scelta di questa tecnologia ha permesso inoltre di diminuire significatamente i consumi energetici per il riscaldamento e il raffreddamento dell'edificio. marazzi engineering ha fornito e progettato la facciata continua in lastre di gres porcellanato 60x60 cm, posata con il sistema di agganci a vista. La realizzazione ha vinto il prestigioso premio Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition 2005 per la categoria "architettura commerciale".

The anonymous views of the big block, which houses the Wilkinson warehouses and its administrative offices, built with grit-finished concrete panels were completely requalified during the refurbishing work on the building. The lower portion of the large entrance front, had irregularly distributed openings, which were joined by means of a steel beam more than 40 metres in length, painted in vivid yellow. The beam’s height which is about 2.5 metres above the ground, is also the lower edge of the new ventilated wall, which wraps around the entire building, giving it a fresh, dynamic appearance, thanks to the marked reflecting effect enabling the integration of architecture and environment. marazzi engineering is a modern, flexible and complete structure, able to work side by side with promoters, architects, developers and constructors during the entire project and construction process. The use of a simple, continuous ceramic face has given this building a new architectural dignity. Moreover, the choice of this technology also made it possible to significantly reduce energy for heating and cooling the building. marazzi engineering has supplied and designed the continuous façade in 60x60cm porcelain stoneware slabs, laid with the visible anchoring system. This building has been awarded the 2005 Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition prize for the category “commercial architecture”.

Il sistema di facciata a parete ventilata è la tecnologia di rivestimento

esterno degli edifici più efficace per risolvere le problematiche della

protezione dall’umidità e dell’isolamento termico e acustico. Infatti, a

differenza di altre soluzioni di comune impiego (strato di isolamento

posizionato sulla faccia interna delle murature o in intercapedini

ricavate all’interno del sistema murario), questo sistema assicura le

migliori prestazioni termoigrometriche senza interferire con la vita in-

terna dell’edificio e senza alterarne le finiture interne. Questo grazie

alla struttura multistrato da cui è costituita la parete ventilata, che

attiva un processo continuo di ventilazione naturale lungo la facciata

eliminando l’umidità in eccesso e fornendo un contributo fondamen-

tale al raffrescamento estivo e al controllo della dispersione termica

invernale. Dal punto di vista costruttivo la parete ventilata di Marazzi

Engineering è costituita da tre tipologie di componenti:

• Isolamento termico in materiale coibente e idrorepellente,

posato a ridosso dell’opera muraria

• Sottostruttura di alluminio, fissata tramite staffe

all’edificio da rivestire e conformata in modi differenti a

The ventilated facade system is the most effective external cladding

technology for buildings to solve the problems of protection against

humidity and of thermal and acoustic insulation. In fact, contrary to

other commonly used solutions - insulation layer positioned on the

internal face of walls or in gaps created inside the wall system - this

system ensures the best thermo-hygrometric performance without in-

terfering with the internal life of the building and without altering

its internal finishes. This is thanks to the multi layer structure making

up the ventilated wall, which activates a continuous natural ventila-

tion process along the façade, thus eliminating excess humidity and

providing an essential contribution for summer cooling and for control

of thermal dispersion in winter. From the construction viewpoint, the

Marazzi Engineering ventilated wall consists of three types of com-

ponents:

• Thermal insulation with insulating and water-repellent material, laid

next to the masonry works

• Aluminium substructure, fastened by brackets to the building to be

clad and shaped in different ways according to the anchoring system

• External cladding laid with open joints

sistema a.g.v. il primo in ordine di tempo proposto da Marazzi, è tuttora di grande attualità per la sua semplicità ed economicità. gli elementi del paramento esterno vengono sorretti da ganci in acciaio inox aisi3i6iT, nellaconfigurazione Standard (per quattro lastre) o nella configurazione Base (per due lastre), rivettati su una struttura portante formata da montanti verticali in alluminio estruso. Questi ultimi vengono fissati per mezzo di staffe all’opera muraria a distanze prestabilite che tengono conto delle dimensioni delle piastrelle. il sistema a.g.v. può essere impiegato sia su superfici piane e verticali che su superfici inclinate e curvilinee (poligonali). i formati standard utilizzabili per le lastre sono il 60x120 cm, il 60x60 cm e il 30x60 cm, tutti squadrabili, nonché altri formati ottenuti per taglio da quelli standard.

The A.G.V system was the first to be proposed by Marazzi and is still very up to date thanks to its simplicity and low cost. The external façade elements are sustained by hooks in AISI316IT stainless steel in the standard configuration (for four slabs) or in the Basic configuration (for two slabs), riveted into a bearing structure formed by vertical uprights in extruded aluminium. The latter are fitted by brackets to the wallwork at (pre-established) distances which take into account the tile dimensions. The A.G.V. system can be used on both flat and vertical surfaces and on inclined and curvilinear (polygonal) surfaces. The standard sizes used for slabs are 60x120 cm, 60x60 cm and 30x60 cm, all of which can be squared, as well as other sizes obtained by cutting the standard versions.

sistema a.g.s. costituisce un ulteriore sviluppo della facciata ventilata ed è indicato quando la particolare caratterizzazione estetica di un paramento richieda di minimizzare i vincoli di tipo tecnico. sul retro della lastra vengono montati una serie di ganci aventi una sezione a “c” sagomata, fissati, attraverso dei particolari tasselli ad espansione che vanno ad impegnarsi in fori con estremità tronco-conica, ottenuti attraverso una lavorazione di fresatura adottando speciali utensili diamantati. La lastra viene quindi agganciata alla sottostruttura portante, composta da un reticolo di correnti orizzontali di sezione complementare a quelle dei ganci fissati sulle lastre, e di montanti verticali. i montanti sono formati da profili in alluminio collegati alla parete esterna dell’edificio tramite staffe di fissaggio angolari sempre in alluminio. La grande semplicità del sistema a.g.s. permette di eseguire agevolmente ogni tipo di dettaglio, compresi spigoli e imbotti di porte e finestre. I formati compatibili sono gli stessi del sistema A.G.V., e cioè il 60x120 cm, il 60x60 cm e il 30x60 cm sempre squadrabili, nonché altri formati ottenuti per taglio.

sistema modul PanelÈ una variante più innovativa ed economica del sistema a.g.s. Le lastre del rivestimentovengono pre-assemblate in pannelli attraverso l’applicazione di profili metallici con sezione ad “I--I”, fissati alle lastre mediante speciali tasselli ad espansione. il pannello così assemblato viene quindi montato sulla medesima sottostruttura prevista per il sistema a.g.s.

Sistema Key PanelAlla stessa filosofia del Modul Panel si ispira anche questo sistema, in cui le lastre di formato rettangolare vengono preassemblate in verticale applicandole tramite tasselli a espansione a profili orizzontali aperti, agganciati sucessivamente a una sottostruttura identica a quella del sistema a.g.s.

sistema sika Tack® Panelsi tratta di una tecnologia che sfrutta le alte performance dei collanti per l’edilizia di ultima generazione. Le lastre del rivestimento vengono fissate tramite adesivo poliuretanico ad una sottostruttura a montanti verticali dello stesso tipo di quella utilizzata per il sistema a.g.v.

The A.G.S. System is a further development of the ventilated façade and is recommended when the particular styling features of a façade make it necessary to minimise technical constraints. a set of hooks with a shaped “c” section are fixed, by means of special screw bolts, which are fitted into holes with a truncated cone end, obtained by milling, and using special diamond tools. The slab is then attached to the load bearing substructure, consisting of a lattice of horizontal stringers with a section complementing those of the hooks secured to the slabs, and of vertical uprights. The uprights are formed by aluminium profiles connected to the building’s external wall by means of angular securing brackets, also in aluminium. The great simplicity of the A.G.S. system enables you to easily carry out any type of detail, including corners and door/widow jambs. The compatible sizes are the same as those of the A.G.V. system, i.e. 60x120 m, 60 x 60 cm and 30x60 cm, with the possibility to be squared, as well as other sizes obtained by cutting.

Modul Panel System This is a more innovative and lower cost variant of the A.G.S. system. The cladding slabs are pre-assembled in panels by the application of metal profiles with a “I--I” section, fixed to the slabs by means of special screw bolts. The panels assembled in this way are then installed on the substructure specified in the A.G.S. system.

Key Panel System This system is also inspired by the same philosophy as the Modul Panel. Here, the rectangular slabs are vertically pre-assembled and are applied by means of screw bolts to open horizontal profiles, then they are hooked onto a substructure identical to that of the A.G.S. system.

sika Tack® Panel System This technology exploits the high performances of latest generation bonding agents for the building industry. The cladding slabs are secured by means of a polyurethane adhesive to a substructure of vertical uprights of the same type as the one used for the A.G.V. system.

• Eliminazione dei ponti termiciLe discontinuità di forme e materiali tipiche degli edifici moderni sono all’origine dei ponti termici, che creano una distribuzione disomogenea della temperatura favorendo l’insorgere di condense e muffe. L’isolamento esterno continuo rende la protezione termica omogenea, mentre il paramento di rivestimento blocca l’irraggiamento solare: insieme riducono le discontinuità termiche e migliorano le prestazioni energetiche dell’edificio.

• Maggiore comfort termicoIl comfort abitativo risulta migliore se la temperatura superficiale delle murature interne rimane per il maggior tempo possibile vicina a quella dell’aria ambiente.L’isolamento esterno ha un doppio beneficio: in inverno permette alle pareti di immagazzinare calore mantenendo elevata la temperatura interna; in estate al contrario diminuisce drasticamente l’accumulo di calore delle pareti perimetrali, trasmettendo all’interno più attenuata l’onda termica dovuta all’irraggiamento solare.

• Eliminazione della condensaQuando due ambienti separati da una parete hanno temperatura e umidità relativa differenti, il vapore tende a migrare verso la faccia della muratura rivolta versol’ambiente con la pressione effettiva più bassa. se durante questa migrazione, in seguito all’abbassarsi della temperatura, la pressione effettiva decresce piùrapidamente della pressione di saturazione, si forma condensa. Posizionando l’isolamento all’esterno della parete le curve di pressione effettiva e di saturazione non si incrociano mai, scongiurando pertanto la formazione della condensa.

• Protezione contro la pioggiail paramento esterno della parete ventilata protegge la muratura perimetrale dall’azione degli agenti atmosferici, mantenendola asciutta ed eliminando il rischio di distacchi e infiltrazioni. Di solito viene applicato a fughe aperte di dimensioni variabili tre gli 8 e i 5 mm in funzione dei sistemi di aggancio adottati per migliorare la circolazione dell’aria e assorbire le spinte di dilatazione delle lastre. si tratta comunque di una superficie piccola, attraverso cui può passare solo una trascurabile percentuale dell’acqua incidente.

• Isolamento acusticoLa facciata ventilata incrementa il potere fonoisolante delle pareti (esterne). confrontando l’rw della struttura muraria al rustico e della stessa ricoperta dal pacchetto isolamento-paramento esterno si può avere un miglioramento del livello di isolamento acustico anche di 10-15 dB.

• Economicità di posa in operaLa struttura di supporto in metallo, leggera, modulare e assemblata interamente a secco, comporta tempi rapidi di posa in opera e risulta pertanto più economica di una struttura a cappotto tradizionale.

• Facilità di manutenzioneNonostante il paramento esterno sia realizzato con materiali dalle elevate caratteristiche tecniche e di resistenza, la natura modulare della sottostruttura permette la sostituzione immediata di ogni singola lastra in caso di danneggiamento.

• Valorizzazione estetica delle facciateil paramento esterno della parete ventilata marazzi engineering, realizzato solitamente con l’applicazione di lastre di gres ad alta tecnologia, materiali lapidei o cotto, può diventare un elemento di straordinario pregio architettonico.

• Elimination of thermal bridgesThe discontinuities of the shapes and materials typical of modern buildings are the cause of thermal bridges, which create a non-uniform temperature distribution, thus favouring the appearance of condensates and moulds. continuous external insulation makes thermal protection uniform, while the cladding façade shields sun radiation: together they reduce thermal discontinuity and improve the building’s energy performances.

• More thermal comfortLiving comfort is better if the superficial temperature of the internal walls remains close to the environment’s air for as long as possible. External insulation has a double benefit: in winter, it allows the walls to store heat, maintaining internal temperature high; on the contrary, in summer, it drastically reduces heat accumulating on the perimeter walls, transferring to the interior a more attenuated thermal wave due to sun radiation.

• Elimination of condensationWhen two rooms separated by a wall have a different relative temperature and humidity, the vapour tends to migrate towards the face of the wall facing the room with lower effective pressure. if, during this migration, following a drop in temperature, effective pressure drops more rapidly than saturation pressure, condensate is formed. if the insulation is positioned outside the wall, the effective pressure and saturation curves never intersect, thus averting the formation of condensation.

• Protection against rainThe external façade of the ventilated wall protects the perimeter masonry against atmospheric agents, keeping it dry and eliminating the risks of detachments and infiltration. It is usually applied in open joints with dimensions varying from 8 to 15 mm, according to the anchoring systems used to improve air circulation, and absorb the expansion thrusts of the slabs. However, this is a small surface, through which only an irrelevant percentage of incident water can flow.

• Acoustic insulationThe ventilated façade increases the sound-insulating power of the walls (external). if we compare the rw of the wall structure to a rough cast and the said structure covered by the external insulation-parameter packet, the level of acoustic insulation can improve even by 10-15 dB.

• Low cost layingThe support structure in metal, light, modular and installed entirely in dry state, entails rapid laying times and is therefore more economic than a traditional external insulation structure.

• Easy maintenancealthough the external façade is built with materials with high technical and resistance characteristics, the modular nature of the substructure enables immediate replacement of every single slab in case of damage to the structure

• Aesthetic enhancement of the façadesThe external façade of the Marazzi Engineering ventilated wall, usually constructed by applying high-tech porcelain stoneware slabs, stone or cotto materials, can become an element of extraordinary architectural worth.

edifici. Si tratta di una tecnologia di grande efficacia perché permette

di creare, sotto la superficie di calpestio, un volume tecnico continuo

Raised floors are a system of modular elements aimed at the construc-

tion of internal and external floors in buildings. This is a highly effective

sTrUTTUra PorTaNTeÈ l’insieme dei componenti orizzontali e verticali che sorreggono i pannelli del pavimento sopraelevato e ne consentono l’innalzamento di quota rispetto alla soletta dell’edificio oltre che il livellamento. Ogni componente è perfettamente interfacciabile e combinabile con gli altri del sistema per consentire di risolvere qualsiasi esigenza funzionale o progettuale. La struttura, in acciaio zincato per evitare gli effetti della corrosione, è formata da colonne, traversi e guarnizioni.

aNimaÈ la parte centrale del pavimento sopraelevato, a cui sono richieste doti di resistenza meccanica ai carichi di pressoflessione, elevata densità per una maggiorefonoassorbenza e adeguata resistenza al fuoco. Può essere di due tipi base, a seconda del materiale di cui è costituita:• In conglomerato di legno e resine ad alta densità e resistenza meccanica, con spessore nominale di 38 mm, caratterizzato da elevate doti di leggerezza, economicità e maneggevolezza;inoltre si situa in classe e1 per quanto riguarda le emissioni di formaldeide.• In materiale inerte (solfato di calcio anidro) rinforzato con fibre di cellulosa ad alta resistenza meccanica, con spessore nominale di 30-34 mm. Le caratteristichefisico-meccaniche e l’assoluta sicurezza rispetto all’emissione di sostanze volatili rendono questo materiale il miglior prodotto di base per il pavimento sopraelevato.

rivesTimeNTo sUPerioreApplicato sulla faccia superiore dell’anima, il rivestimento superiore è il materiale che definisce l’aspetto estetico del pavimento. Marazzi Engineering è in grado di fornire a questo scopo qualsiasi materiale, dai più classici ai più innovativi. anche se un ruolo fondamentale è giocato dalla bellezza cromatica, dato che si tratta di materiali che svolgono la funzione di piano di calpestio risulta fondamentale anche un’adeguata resistenza all’usura e ai carichi statici che gravano sul pavimento, oltre alla facilità di pulizia e manutenzione. Marazzi Engineering è in grado di fornire una gamma molto ampia di materiali per la finitura superficiale del piano di calpestio: gres porcellanato, materiali resilienti (Pvc, linoleum, gomma), laminati plastici ad alta pressione, materiali lapidei naturali (pietre, marmi, graniti, travertini), o di sintesi (legante cemento o legante resina) e legno naturale.

Inoltre, dato che costituisce il punto di contatto tra due pannelli contigui, deve garantirne il movimento relativo senza produrre rumori. marazzi engineering ha sviluppato differenti tecnologie dibordatura, impiegate a seconda dei materiali di cui sono costituiti i pannelli.

LoaD beariNg sTrUcTUreit is a set of horizontal and vertical components which sustain the panels of the raised floor and enable to raise them higher with respect to the building’s slab, in addition to levelling. Every component perfectly interfaces and combines with the other parts of the system to resolve any functional or project related requirements. The structure is in galvanised steel, to prevent the effects of corrosion, and consists of columns, cross beams and seals.

coreThe central part of the raised floor must mechanically resist pressure bending loads and be highly dense to ensure acoustic absorption as well as adequate fire resistance. Pre Posa a seccoPrima di procedere alla consegna, soprattutto nel caso di lavorazioni speciali eseguite su disegno, viene effettuato in stabilimento il collaudo finale, cioè una simulazione al vero della posa in opera. gli elementi tagliati vengono disposti in piano e accostati per verificare la corrispondenza di tutti i pezzi al disegno, il rispetto delle tolleranze e le caratteristiche cromatiche dei singoli elementi.

In particular, waterjet cutting, performed by numeric control machines, makes it possible to obtain, without any difficulty, elements with a curvilinear profile, with very low tolerances. Waterjet technology enables to obtain a perfect match of the elements in the design, almost free of joints, obtaining continuous decorative surfaces which give the designer almost unlimited composing freedom, enabling him to match different colours and materials to create particular, realistic or abstract visual effects.

PRE-INSTALLATION IN DRY STATEBefore delivery, especially in the case of special processing carried out according to design, a final test is run at the plant, i.e. a simulation of actual installation. The cut elements are laid out flat and brought to adjoin each other to make sure that all the pieces match the design, respect the tolerances and chromatic characteristics of every single element.

Le informazioni sulla Certificazione CCC riguardano in generale la sicurezza e la salute, con particolare riferimento, nel caso delle piastrelle di ceramica, alle sole piastrelle in gres Porcellanato, con un assorbimento minore o uguale allo 0,5%. La Certificazione si ottiene attraverso l’intervento di istituti appositamente accreditati dalle autorità cinesi, tutti con sede in cina.

NF - UPECMarchio di conformità del prodotto finito alle Norme NF con correlazione delle caratteristiche tecniche alla destinazione d’uso. Le quattro lettere indicano rispettiva mente:U: resistenza all’usura da calpestioP: resistenza meccanica agli spostamenti di oggetti mobili e fissie: comportamento in presenza di acquac: resistenza agli agenti chimici correnti.

The certification is issued by bodies specially accredited by the chinese authorities, which are all based in china.

keYmarkIl Keymark nasce su iniziativa del CEN (Comitato Europeo di Normalizzazione), che ha ritenuto importante proporre un marchio comune europeo. Il Keymark è un marchio di prodotto basato su un sistema di certificazione di parte terza, che attesta che un prodotto risponde ai requisiti delle norme europee di riferimento. esso viene concesso a fronte di una procedura di certificazione che comprende:- l’effettuazione di prove di conformità sul prodotto;- la valutazione del sistema documento di controllo della produzione;- la verifica sul luogo di produzione.Trattandosi di un marchio europeo, le prove vengono effettuate secondo le norme europee EN in vigore. I vantaggi del Keymark sono evidenti: i prodotti che lo portano sono garantiti, sotto il profilo qualitativo, in modo univoco in tutta europa, senza la necessità di dover ricorrere ad onerose e lunghe ripetizioni di prove ed ispezioni. Nella prospettiva del mercato unito europeo si pone come elemento prioritario la certificazione di prodotto basata su riferimenti:- certi: sono documenti studiati, elaborati ed approvati da esperti a livello europeo;- univoci: non più le regole di un singolo stato ma un corpus normativo in cui si riconosce tutta l’europa.

ecoLabeL marazzi ha ottenuto per alcune linee di prodotto quali graniti, Le cromie, soho, sinfonie e sistema, il marchio di qualità ecologica dell’Unione europea ecolabel, attribuito ai prodotti che soddisfano e rispettano sia i requisiti ambientali, sia l’utilizzo razionale delle risorse energetiche previste dall’Unione europea per la concessione del marchio di qualità ecologica. si tratta di un marchio di eccellenza che marazzi intende estendere a molteplici serie ceramiche, a dimostrazione dell’ecosostenibilità dei suoi prodotti e dell’ecosensibilità che contraddistingue lo spirito aziendale. in occasione del convegno Emas - Ecolabel di Roma dell’ 1 marzo 2006, a Marazzi è stato conferito dal Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio, uno speciale award per il suo impegno e la sua attenzione all’ambiente. il rispetto dell’ambiente rappresenta un impegno di fondamentale importanza per tutti, perché l’ambiente è la “casa di tutti”. Lo smaltimento degli imballi dovrà essere effettuato rispettando le regole della raccolta differenziata, mentre i pezzi delle piastrelle tagliate durante la loro istallazione dovranno essere smaltiti con conferimento alle specifiche discariche in quanto trattasi di inerti classificati non pericolosi, codice 101208. Keymark is a product mark based on a third party certification system, which certifies that the product complies with the applicable European standards. ecoLabeL For a number of its product lines, such as graniti, Le cromie, soho, Sinfonie and SistemA, Marazzi has obtained the EU Ecolabel ecology trademark, awarded to products that meet and comply with both the environmental requirements and the rational use of energy resources set by the European Union. marazzi aims to achieve this trademark of excellence for a much larger number of series of ceramic tiles, thereby demonstrating and underlining the commitment to ecosustainability that is one of the signal features of the company philosophy. On the occasion of the Emas - Ecolabel Convention held in Rome on 1st march 2006, the minister for the environment and Land Protection presented marazzi with a special award for its commitment and attention to the environment. Respect for the environment is of crucial importance for everyone, because the environment is the home we all live in.
