Our Products.

1. QuickFix ® Outdoor 230 V – robust and weather-proof rubber light chains. The LEDs in the

range are glued with epoxy resin into a specically aligned polycarbonate cap. This guarantees

perfect electrical contact at all times and reliable protection against moisture. In combination with

the safety twist connector, this construction provides not only quick, simple and safe installation,

but also an IP44 rating. All QuickFix® 230V outdoor light chains can be connected together,

forming the basis for our QuickFix® Collection and Collection Range. They are ideally suited for

the illumination of trees, building facades and to emphasise building structures.

PROESSIONAL LINE.At the heart of our product range is the Professional Line, a range of high quality chain lights which offer exceptionalquality, unique character and high performance. This product family impresses with the patented QuickFix® System,facilitating quick and safe installation.

2. QuickFix ® Indoor 230 V – these elegant, transparent PVC light chains are the safest

indoor chains on the market as the LEDs are glued with epoxy resin into a specically aligned

polycarbonate cap. This means that the cables can no longer be pulled out of the sockets,

guaranteeing permanently perfect electrical contact. In combination with the safety twist

connector, this construction provides quick, simple and safe installation. All QuickFix® 230V indoor

light chains can be connected together. Ideally suited for Christmas trees, garlands, decorative

wreaths and for all interior lighting concepts.

3. QuickFix ® Low Voltage 36 V – elegant, transparent and, at the same time, the most

professional low-voltage light chain on the market, with low-voltage transformer IP67 for outdoor

and indoor usage.These LEDs are glued with epoxy resin into a specically aligned polycarbonate

cap. This guarantees 100% electrical contact at all times and reliable protection against moisture.

In combination with the safety twist connector, this construction provides not only quick, simple

and safe installation, but also an IP44 rating. All QuickFix® Low Voltage 36V light chains can be

connected together and are ideally suited for decorations that are situated within reach of the

public, or, otherwise, where low voltage is stipulated.

Dependent on the size of the decoration, the light chains can be powered by one central 36V

transformer. Our team will gladly calculate the correct specication of the transformer for you.

4. Light sources – All light sources in the Professional Line use the

latest technology to produce the purest-coloured light.

• FilaLED E27 and E14, now also as AC LED

The FilaLED is the Rolls-Royce of LED light sources, with a best-

possible power factor of nearly 1* demonstrating the world-class

quality of this advanced LED technology. With an energy consumptionof only 2,4 watts, the FilaLED is the most efcient on the market.

With no electronic control gears and thus fewer electronics, resulting

in less wear and tear and longer life, the FilaLED differentiates itself

markedly from low-energy and other LED lights.

The specially-cut crystal in the interior of the FilaLED simulates the

appearance of a standard lighting lament perfectly, and closely

emulates the traditional light bulb with a warm-white light tone. The

FilaLED can be ordered in candle, ball, or bulb form, in matt or clear

glass, and (uniquely) is dimmable.

• Golf Ball E27

The special structure of the Golf Ball means it has more surface area

than standard LED light sources. Subsequently it emits more light and

offers outstanding performance for its price. The "golf ball" casing is

made of matt or clear polycarbonate, making it extremely tough and

durable. The base's new conical shape is particularly well-suited to

the insulation rings of varying market-standard sockets. Ideally suited

for indoor and outdoor use.

• LED Deco Golf Ball E27

The Deco Golf Ball, with its lower luminosity and standard round

form, is the lower-cost version and most closely resembles the

traditional light bulb. Its shape, however, does not t all market-

standard sockets. The Deco Golf Ball is available in the light tones

"warm white" or "brilliant white" and with a matt or clear polycarbonate

casing. Please note: for outdoor use, a suitable socket with a sealingsilicone ring must be used.

• Flash-Lights E27, B22

These LEDs or "strobes" ash intermittently at short regular intervals,

thus simulating "lightning ashes". This effect can help to emphasise

the focal point of decorative displays and, for that reason, are a

popular choice for use on trees and building decorations.

• Prisma E14, 12 Volt

This has been the replacement light source of choice for the standard

light bulb in traditional E14 displays for quite a while. The prism LED

is available in a range of colours and attracts the eye with its unique

diamond-cut polycarbonate casing, which helps to create a brilliant

light. In addition, prism LEDs are available in Flash-Lights and in

RGB-Multicolor with smoothly-owing light transitions.

5. Rope Light Outdoor 230 V – points of LED light of various colours arranged together and

poured into a exible PVC tube rope. Thanks to the QuickFix® System, all Rope Light Outdoor

230V products can be connected together, they full the IP44 rating and are quick, simple and

safe to install. Ideally suited for building façades, roofs, contours and indirect illumination. Please

note: Never forget to tape over the contact joins and end caps!

6. Deco & Green – traditional, hand-made decorations, articial trees and garlands of greenery.

Supplied complete with warm-white points of LED light and in top B1 tested quality. The natural

colour of the thick foliage of tinsel "pine needles" and injection-moulded "needles", in addition to

the high density of "needles" in the decoration, make for realistic-looking greenery. The uniquecharacteristic of our garlands is that each and every light is individually attached to a "needle",

with the wires running through the interior of the product itself.

7. QuickFix ® Collection 230 V – the smaller display group with endless creative possibilities.

Fully exible in its application, this product can be directly connected to the QuickFix® Outdoor

product range. When used with the QuickFix® Indoor product range, a special T-connector

is required. This collection is also available in Organic Materials which are 100% recyclable,

waterproof, weatherproof, and resistant to UV light.

The Collection range is being continually enhanced by new design ideas and display sizes whilst

retaining MK‘s established quality standards. In their manufacture, we only ever use the latest

LED technology which, from 2011, we are combining for the rst time with Organic Materials. This

new generation of materials delivers signicant benets: they are 100% recyclable, waterproof,

weatherproof, and resistant to UV light.

In addition each motif has been specially designed to feature an integrated framework, which not

only enhances their design and appearance but also improves handling and overall functionality.

The organic materials provide a stunning "day and night effect". This is made possible by a

specic mix of materials which produce an attractive surface that sparkles magically during the

day. At night the motifs create a fairy-tale backdrop through the complementary lighting set insidethe frame.

The creativity of our craftsmen helps to transform our ideas into

top-quality products. From the smallest of ideas we are able to

create pieces of art, one-off creations – made with feeling to meet

the discerning needs of our customers. Since 2009, we have been

working high-quality crystal raindrops and crystal pearls into our

three-dimensional indoor and outdoor lighting displays. These

products have become the real gems of our collection and our

customers have fallen in love with them - reason enough to continue

developing this range. Our inspiration has been found in the stylecollections "Glory" (the glamorous) and "Joy" (the playful).

2011: A new relationship

"Limited" products are an expression of particularly high-quality

taste – glamorous, exquisite, and stylish. For the coming season,

we shall be combining our "Limited" displays with new Organic

Materials, produced using raw materials from sustainable sources.

Yet another innovation this year is the creative combination of our hand-made, three-dimensional displays with selected high-quality

fabrics. Available for indoor use only. We use only materials

Honest Craftsmanship

The central birthplace of our countless design ideas is right next

to our R&D department – in the in-house design ofce. Our motto

“everything under one roof” is both the cornerstone and quality

seal for our unique and distinctive style.

Each season in a production area of more than 6,000 m2, up to

180 employees manually model and manufacture our motifs.

Each motif is then checked with great precision to ensure theycomply with European safety standards before they are allowed

to leave the premises and be used in creative displays. To us, it

is a natural business initiative to constantly and purposefully train

and develop such manual skills. This is the only way to create

unique products that meet the highest design standards.

What is an "original" and what is it worth?An "original" is something unique, which has never been seen before. It boasts distinctive characteristicsof creativity, longevity and high standards which help tobuild trust, security and condence in its overall quality.

At MK Illumination, we are constantly researching and developing

our product lines. Our innovative design ideas originate in-house,and only by a repetitive process of building and rebuilding prototypes

can we best turn these ideas into concrete form. It is self-evident

that only through our knowledge of the smallest components and of

the intrinsic dynamics of our market, along with our understanding of

legal and regulatory backgrounds, are we able to work productively

and effectively to achieve our quality goals.

The QuickFix® Outdoor 230V, low-voltage 36V and Indoor 230V System has

been tested by a European institute and approved for the European market. The

special production methods for the QuickFix® connectors make our light chains

the safest in Europe.

For safety reasons, 230V products cannot be connected up to 36V ones.

MK is the rst manufacturer to guarantee the new European safety standards

(by anticipating product misuse)!

2. Cable markings

All MK cables produced with effect from 2011 carry the new "MK Printing"

mark as a sign of quality and to document their originality. These cables are

quality-certied only by the German institute VDE, making them always readilyidentiable as a quality product.

3. New environment-friendly packaging

MK is committed to a sustainable environmental policy! We do not print on

bleached paper and we do not use environmentally-damaging dyes. Each

product package is given the Original Quality Seal, which is your guarantee that

you are receiving a quality product. As for packaging, we ensure that each MK

product is packaged in the best-possible package size. This helps to optimise

our distribution and, moreover, reduce CO2

emissions.

4. Identication

Each MK product can be veried via stored and encrypted data e.g. date of

manufacture and the certication of quality testing.

5. International Patent Registration

At MK we have patented a large number of ourdesigns. For that reason, we

also value the intellectual property rights of others and respect them.

> LUMEN (LM)

This name comes from the Latin for "Light". The Lumen is the unit of

measurement of luminous ux. In simple terms, how brightly a lighting

element shines.

> WATT (W)

The Watt (W), named after the 18th-century Scottish inventor James

Watt, is the unit of measurement for energy over time and indicates

how much energy a lighting element consumes, or requires per hour to

give off light.

> KELVIN (K)

The Kelvin (K), named after the 19th-century UK physicist William

Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin, is the basic unit of thermodynamic

temperature and measures the colour of light. MK "warm white" has a

value of 2,000 to 2,400 Kelvin.

> ENERGY LABELShows how energy-efcient a light element is.

> YEARS / h (Hours) Operational Life

Gives an approximate estimate, in years or hours, of the operational

life of a light bulb or LED.

> DECORATIVE LIGHT

A whirlwind of colours lled with contrasts and creativity. This light

sets different scenes, creates impressive fantasy worlds and identity

by enhancing the ambience of a location, and touches the heart of

the onlooker. In addition, companies are increasingly using decorative

At MK, we call cold white "brilliant white"

This is because no other light can create magical winter landscapes

that are so charming, majestic, powerful and pure. Brilliant light

attracts people's attention and manages to hold it because of its

fabulously unique colour tone.

What do "patented LEDs" offer?

The patented LED specially manufactured for MK Illumination – our

Premium LEDs – are not labelled ‘premium’ without reason. They

offer decisive advantages over the competition:

- they are sourced exclusively from a reputable manufacturer

- only patented LEDs provide an assured legal position on the market- luminosity and quality full the standards set by MK Illumination

Copy LEDs are illegal, used in cheap products and lose in just

500 hours more than 50% of their luminosity. In comparison MK‘s

Premium LEDs lose just 10-20% of their luminosity within 10000

hours. In summary MK Premium LEDs offer substantial benets

including:

- a clearer and more intensive luminous colour (Kelvin)

- a smaller loss of luminosity (Lumen in percent)

- longer duration of life (longevity)

Ask your producer or manufacturers for a valid certicate to

ensure they use patented LEDs.

MK uses only low-power LEDs

These are ideally suited for decorative and festive illuminations

since they only emit a nominal amount of heat. All MK products have

been, and are, subject to continuous testing by recognised European

institutes (SLG, Kema, TÜV), guaranteeing the highest levels of safety

for you and your customers.

Its golden glow, together with the welcoming atmosphere it creates, makes "warm white" the rst choice of LED

colour for decorative and Christmas illuminations. However, not all “warm-whites“ are the same.In conjunction with the world's most renowned LED lighting manufacturer worldwide, our R & D departement hasdeveloped an LED light source which combines energy efciency and high luminosity with a consistent

"warm white" tone. Despite its considerably lower energy consumption, the LED produces a light which is strikinglysimilar to that of a traditional light bulb.

Premier LED Technology

Optimal light distribution: 360 degrees of light

Many manufacturers use LEDs with a radiation angle of 30 degrees.

These create one very bright point which is only easily visible from

a single angle. An LED which shines over too restricted a range

does not meet the requirements of the various laser classes and can

damage the human eye if looked at too closely.

That is why at MK, we only use LEDs which are glued with epoxy

resin into a specically aligned polycarbonate cap. This helps to

create a soft light which has a light output of 360 degrees. What's

more, the glue's special formula enhances the light coverage, acting

like a magnifying glass to reinforce the effect and make the LEDs'

sparkling light shine all the more brilliantly.

from organic materials. At MK we don’t just want to follow the ‘green’ trend and merely give the

leader in developing products with signicant environmental benets. For us it is important to

leave behind a demonstrably light environmental footprint. This is one of the reasons why we are

already thinking ahead in our selection of diverse materials and using organic materials in our

products. The organic materials we have sourced are 100% recyclable, waterproof, weatherproof,

and resistant to UV light. Our environmental commitment started in the development of LEDproducts and has been a constant companion in our corporate philosophy ever since. The new

organic range is a product of this philosophy.

New for 2011: Professional Line products without mains plugs

From 2011 all light chains in the Professional Line are to be supplied without mains plugs. This

will simplify the installation process and will aid the environment as it will no longer be necessary

to dispose of plugs which are surplus to requirements. Do not, however, forget to order at least

one mains plug suitable for your country of operation.

The MK Illumination Low Voltage System™

In 2010 we extended our Professional Line with a fully-transparent low-voltage product family.

This combines all the advantages of a low-voltage system together with the quality of the MKProfessional series and the patented QuickFix® SYSTEM. Developed for indoor and outdoor use,

a transparent cable, polycarbonate caps and the 360 degree lighting effect ensure an elegant

appearance. Safety is guaranteed by the IP67-rated transformers.

In our sector, we spearheaded the campaign for a better environment, making it our task to offer our customersnot only the best, but also – in the interests of a sustainable, light environmental footprint – the most ecologically-friendly lighting technology. Our clear understanding of our responsibility towards man and the environmentgave rise to our commitment, both to use energy-efcient lighting increasingly in our products and to campaign

incessantly for its use. In this way, we wish to make a signicant contribution towards a permanent reduction in

CO2

emissions and its subsequent environmental damage.

Environment

Lighting the future: our LED technology

Our LED technology is the rst choice for decorative illumination and,

we at MK Illumination are investing a great deal of time and money

in its continued development. Just like MK, our customers are also

committed to this „light of the future“ because it consumes extremely-

low energy levels, has a negligible effect on the environment and is

cost-effective.

The new "Organic Materials" generation

The proportion of "organic materials" in our production is rising

month-on-month. The so-called "renewable raw materials" are basedcompletely, or in an agreed proportion, on agricultural raw materials

such as (amongst others) starch, sugar, vegetable oils and cellulose

(wood, natural bres, straw) as well as special organic molecules like

lignin or rubber. The proportion of agricultural raw materials in each

Organic Material is at least 20%. The expression "organic materials"

is still relatively young. At MK we're using the term as a collective

label to describe the new organic based materials used to create our

new MK Organic range.

The "organic materials" used in our concepts are made up of

considerably more than 20% wood. We justiably refer to these

materials as organic because:

• a considerable proportion of the material is derived from renewable

sources

• the proportion of petrochemical source materials is signicantly

reduced

• the net effect on the planet's CO2

levels is markedly better than with

standard polymers

• they are a real-life contribution to resource-saving sustainability

"Good" is not good enough!

Can plastic grow in plants? No, we wouldn't have thought so either.

Nevertheless, we have recently begun to use plastics comprised

almost entirely of 100% renewable materials. In other words: the raw

material for the plastic comes from plants andnot from petroleum!

luminosity and standard round form, is

the lower-cost version and most closely

resembles the traditional light bulb. Its

shape, however, does not t all market-

standard sockets. The Deco Golf Ball

matt or clear polycarbonate casing.

together and poured into a exible PVC tube rope. Thanks to the QuickFix®

System, all Rope Light Outdoor 230V products can be connected together, they

full the IP44 rating and are quick, simple and safe to install. Ideally suited for

building façades, roofs, contours and indirect illumination. Please note: Never

forget to tape over the contact joins and end caps!

Simply choose the correct rope light specication for your project.

We have three different variations which differ In terms of:

- the alignment of the LEDs

- the number of LEDs per metre

A range of high-quality two-dimensional lighting displays for street lamps,

house exteriors and street banners.

The Collection range is being continually enhanced by new design ideasand display sizes whilst retaining MK‘s established quality standards. In their

manufacture, we only ever use the latest LED technology which, from 2011, we

are combining for the rst time with Organic Materials. This new generation of

materials delivers signicant benets: they are 100% recyclable, waterproof,

weatherproof, and resistant to UV light.

In addition each motif has been specially designed to feature an integrated

framework, which not only enhances their design and appearance but also

improves handling and overall functionality. The organic materials provide

a stunning „day and night effect“. This is made possible by a specic mix of materials which produce an attractive surface that sparkles magically during the

day. At night the motifs create a fairy-tale backdrop through the complementary

lighting set inside the frame.
